Not a drop has fallen down here all day and in fact it has been sunny the whole time. That cloud out east looks huge though.

It was sunny and pouring with hail in Kingsland about an hour ago. That was rather interesting...

They just said on The Weather Network that there were reports of a Tornado touching down somewhere north of Airdrie, they weren't very specific but I think they were just receiving the information when they spoke of it.

Well there you go, icarus just beat me to it.

KG is now in Strathmore and can see rotation. Being the worried person that I am, I gave him directions for the storm that put the tornado down . Already has run into some large hail and perhaps a funnel cloud. Hopefully he'll have some good photos for us.

Tornado warning just announced for Strathmore, hopefully he's keeping safe.

Hopefully he'll have better luck than the last time he went, too. He was calling me for updates, ended up almost in Hanna and didn't see a damn thing!

I'm sure he is. He actually cut the phone call short because the weather there was getting unpredictable. He said there was major rotation, and I guess EC is seeing the same thing. Have to commend EC for a warning before it actually touches down.

hehehe, I was doing the same. He'd call you, then call me. Except I actually made it to Hanna... then got home to Edmonton at 2am. Don't worry though, I don't blame you for that

About 40 min ago I told him to travel north to Hwy 21 & 9 intersection. Hopefully he did, because the two storms were/are going right for it.

Well, what promised to be an exciting evening east of Strathmore appears to have disintigrated. We stood on the deck of the house and watched the cloud rotate, move our direction, and then break up. Can't say I am terribly disappointed - though it sounds like we are still in for some thunderstorm action tonight.

Well, that was quite the trip. I will see what I got in my picks. I did turn north to the one that put down the tornado at Crossfield but I was about 20 minutes too late. Though...I was already pretty close to it and I was coming at it from the south. I didnt want it to drop onto of me.

Met a couple of other chasers around Highway 9 and 21 and gave him my email address. I guess they drove right through it and got the rotation on film.

Heads up near Olds/Airdire. Another wave is going through. Looks pretty intense, which is weird.

Guess we could still be in for something here tonight.

For you cloud watchers . . . .

This is the cloud that bombed High River about a week ago.

Another one from last week darkens my valley.

Today is the 20th anniverssarry of the Tornado that hit Leduc/Beaumont/Edmonton and took the lives of 27 people IIRC. I was golfing at Wolf Creek yesterday and we thought we would get nailed by a nasty storm as the clouds looked pretty nasty, but nothing really transpired. Driving home North on Hiway 2 I could see Lightning off to the East and West but the highway was nice and clear.
