On 1 vs. 100 a couple weeks ago they had a tricky question, 'which of these three celebrities has not been charged with DUI' and the surprising answer was Lindsay Lohan. I guess that question is out of date now.

That has a huge effect, no doubt.

Also the smarter youth of hollywood don't get involved in the LA jet set party crowd, which seems to produce more problem celebs than anything else out there.

That is a high maintenance lifestyle. I have a friend who was living down there as a entertainment journalist and dating a hollywood actor, and she said the crap that goes on down there would make our heads spin. Drugs, alcohol, sex, and the constant 24/7 party life is what alot of these socialites live for. And it's like this in all the clubs, parties, events, anything that serves a good time, its ALL on the menu....

Count me out - I couldn't do that crap for more than a day before I just get annoyed and want to check my email or browse the net. =)

The thing is, she has spent so many of her formative years as a celebrity I'm not sure she has much idea what "normal" is.

Like most people with multiple addictions, she will have to hit bottom before she starts to resurrect herself. I suspect by then, her so called career will be in a shambles.

Sadly, most people who reach stardom when so young, never get a chance at a normal childhood and hence never really know what normal is. They constantly are trying to fit in to get that big break and get influenced by the wrong people and make poor choices, both in their personal and professional lives.

A lot of this could be avoided if parents would think what is best for their children, not how their children cam make the most money and not how their children can get the most exposure. And sadly, I think too many parents try to live out their own fantasies through their children.

Many in showbiz will tell you, stay clear of this life till you are mid to late 20's. If the person really is talented, that talent will still be there when you are mature enough to handle that lifestyle.

What Lohan or Spears are going through is commonplace,
nothing new. My brother was briefly involved in the music industry
about 10 years ago.

He was invited to numerous Grammy's, parties, concerts/tours, the whole
bit. All this led to a Rolling Stone offer to become a "journalist" for them,
but he turned it down for a real career instead (in which he's done
amazingly well).

He said the amount of drugs, alcohol, sex, and all around debauchery
associated with such, was nothing short of incredible. In some places
everyone was high, everyone was drunk, everyone was sleeping with
everyone (and all associated combinations). [Something like, if you
really wanted to send a message in the drug war, you would just
go to one of these parties, and round them all up for posession.
It would be a who's-who celeb list getting arrested.]

All the while he insisted that he remained clean of all drugs offered...
[The other stuff? "MYOB!" haha, man would he get defensive]

Amusingly, he never asked for autographs or any personal info from
any of the stars he met. All he's got is a few pictures and a couple of memorabilia from those days.

DUI
transport of narcotics
racist remarks
saying" she can do what she wants because she is a celebrity"

( according to the Nancy grace show)

why do people like her again?
