Has anybody read the two Bourne books by Eric Van Lustbader (The Bourne Legacy and The Bourne Betrayal)? I'd like to get into reading the books and I'd like to hear what people think of the books. Are they as good as Ludlum's books? Are they a good continuation?

the signature line is still in the movie and the movie loses nothing because it didnt have gory scenes or swearing. Don't get me wrong, I would have liked an R rating as much as you but to be a fan of the series and decide to not see this movie solely based on the rating is just dumb. See the thing and if you think that it lost its edge with the pg-13 rating.....fair comment, but to judge it before you see it is just ignorant.

Ignorant to describe someone not wanting to watch an action flick seems a little much. I'm quite sure there are movies you haven't watched based on reviews and what you hear from others. Many of my friends have watched it and his signature line does get cut off with a gun shot. When I don't like something, I have my say with my wallet. There's some things you just don't buy if you don't think you'll like it. There's no return policy. In the end, we have different opinions on the subject.

Back on subject... I was playing around with that Google/Bourne page and it seems like they put a lot of effort into it. I'm stuck at the messaging part though

So who's pumped to see this movie this weekend?

I'm going today, I think, and I can't wait! It's been getting awesome reviews as the best Bourne yet, so it should be great!

Going Sunday, was never a huge fan of the first one, so I never saw number 2, but my friend made me re-watch number one and follow it up with Supremacy and I loved it!! Cant wait.

I read all of Ludlum's trilogy and loved them - his writing style is detailed and easy to get into. My only problem with the movies is that Matt Damon is, imho, too young to be the character described by Ludlum. Despite that, the movies have been really good - the 2nd even better than the 1st - and I'm interested in seeing what they do with #3 seeing as they didn't even introduce a major bad guy in #2 who figures in #3 as well.

I'd only just found out about the 2 new books written by Eric Van Lustbader and am going to check the first one out at least - if they are anywhere as close to being as well written as Ludlum's they should be good.

This movie is... AMAZING. I was at the premiere... just plain amazing stuff. Best of the 3, and I loved the first two. One of the best trilogies ever! (LOTR can't be beat, sorry guys)

GO SEE IT!

I also can't wait.

I watched the first one, which was on TV a couple nights ago, and about the young-ness factor: Damon looks young in the first one, wow so very young. I see what you mean. Any of the girls on Cp care to tell me how old he is? Don't pretend like you don't know.

I'm not a girl but I can tell you his IMDB profile says he was born October 8th, 1970, making him 36.

So... Gotta say I was a little disappointed. Action sequences were fantastic, especially the chase through the apartments in Tangiers, but the emotional quality just wasn't what it was in the previous two. Maybe because in the first two, there was such a strong connection with his victims (the african dictator in the first and the russian diplomat in the second). This one was just all about him, and I thought it was a little less interesting for that reason. Final confrontation was very good, though. Still probably the best action film to come out since Supremacy.

Can a movie like this, ever be considered as a Best Picture nominee?

I thought it was great, and the ending couldn't have been more perfect.

And oilers_fan, I don't know of many (any?) action movies that are ever been nominated for an Oscar, but I'm not a huge movie buff, so I could be wrong.

Just got back from Calgary, I give it 3 thumbs up. Not exactly the ending I was expecting, but worthwhile non-the-less.
