I tried it too, got fooled by the ad without even seeing the price. My review would be fairly similar to Ken's it wasn't good at all, and I am a fan of lobster. Tasted kind of like a tuna but lobster and very bland, not worth the money should have stuck with my regular meatball.

Saw a show on Food Network once about this little restaurant in New England that sells lobster sandwiches. Of course that lobster is also freshly caught, but it is a popular dish. Looked awesome. That's the only reason I thought it may be worth trying, but thanks for you folks doing the taste test for us. I think I will pass.

Lobster rolls are pretty popular out east...you can get them at lots of fish markets and similar venues. Damn good, too.

Btw, does anyone know what imitation crab is actually made of?

Since they have imitation crab, how come they don't have imitation lobster?

I tried the McLobster (at a McDonald's...duh!) in Nova Scotia once and it wasn't too shabby. Cold lobster roll. but it was real lobster and it was edible.

Living in Halifax I'm well aware of that. It wasn't a comment of "oh my god why make a lobster sandwich". It was "oh my god how can a place like subway call THAT lobster and who thought that sub was a good idea"

Made with nice fresh lobster that was just cooked it can absolutely be great. From Subway not so much.

I'm intrigued by the Subway Lobster sandwich because of the absolute perversity of being able to order a $31 fastfood sandwich, especially one involving processed cheese. Imagine the enormity of that decision, whether to get the yellow cheese or the white cheese on your $31 extravaganza.

Do you tip your sandwich artist (do they still call them that?) on a sandwich that represents probably close to four hours of wages for them?

I tried it today. It was real lobster, not pollack. Not bad, but not the best either. It might taste better if it was cheaper.

I've tried the lobster sub, and it's not that great really. I go to Subway every day I work, and I figured why not try something different. I won't be having that again.

Useless fact of the day. Lobstars used to be food for poor people. People of status would never be caught dead eating them. May have something to do with the bible saying not to eat this type of animal. Somehow this was switched around.
probably because it's a large bottom feeding insect. yuck!
