I just wait til I sober up before going to bed, only way I can prevent hangovers. For me, there is nothing that makes me feel better when I'm hungover, I just have to wait it out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangover
A four page literature review in British Medical Journal on hangover cures by Max Pittler of the Peninsula Medical School at Exeter University and colleagues concludes: "No compelling evidence exists to suggest that any conventional or complementary intervention is effective for preventing or treating alcohol hangover. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to practice moderation."

Along the same lines, did anyone ever try those pills that were marketed about six months ago that claimed it cured hangovers?
I think i saw them sold at like Shoppers Drug Mart etc.
If so did they work? Help a little? Completely Useless/Waste of money?

My sister will attest to that, she lives 2 blocks from a McDonald's and if she is hung over, she can't get there fast enough the next morning for breakfast. She loads up on as much grease as she can eat.

One bleary-eyed and heady-ached Sunday morning someone offered me the only painkiller they had, which was some Midol, and I washed it down with the only booze available -- a couple "hard" lemonades. Then I went for a stroll down 17th and felt like my head was hollow and time was going really slow. That was much more of a hangover delayer than a cure. I don't recommend it.
I don't think anything is a cure. Eating greasy food means I go from headache/tired to headache/tired/nauseous, so that doesn't help.
The best piece of advice I can offer for heavy boozing is when you are on a roadtrip/camping or just on a bender, drink enough water or gatorade to take at least one clear piss before you start again. That, to me, means you are at least re-hydrated from the night before and that means it's time to start de-hydrating for the night ahead.

I think the Mythbusters should put some of these to the test.

Seriously, I've had some pretty good success with cutting carbs up to 2 days in advance, drinking loads of water for a few days prior, and loading up on Ginseng, grape seed extract and fish oil supplements.
I hit the combination right on the head one day, where I did a 12 hour binge, and woke up feeling absolutely fantastic, slept fine and wasn't groggy at all. I wasn't even craving fast food, which for me is quite out of the ordinary.

It only helps temporarily. I feel better while I am eating the crap, but end up feeling worse for it an hour later.
Fruit seems to help long term.

Gatorade totally cures my hangovers!

gatorade or pedialyte will actually work better if you drink it before you go to bed or even before you start drinking.
you should water it down though. about 1/2 & 1/2.

I am a firm believer in the gatorade/propel method. I drank three or four of those vitamin waters before going to bed after sharing a bottle of scotch one day. The fact that I'm alive today to type this message is a testament to the wonderous power of that divine liquid.

This is very important. Mixing Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and alcohol can cause liver damage. Apparently, mixing alcohol and other pain relievers (aspirin, ibuprofen etc) is also not good for you either. These days, I stay away from pain relievers altogether when I'm hungover and just put up with the suffering. Google "alcohol and acetaminophen" for plenty of info on the subject.
I do find copious quantities of Gatorade and 3 or 4 McD's cheeseburgers to be a great help when I'm hungover though.

Totally. I don't know why, but dropping a 3-coiler instantly makes me feel better.

Thritto.
I would have to disagree that drinking copious amounts of water before bed helps. I think it doesn't. What does help is drinking copious amounts of water while out drinking. I was at a wedding last summer when I gunned back about 20+ drinks. I just made sure that for every three drinks I got a pint glass full of water and chugged it. I had a to go pee alot more but I felt totally fine in the morning.
Do that and you wont feel so bad.
Otherwise, a big grayish brown dump and a bottle of tylenol is all that will help me.
