He probably made a paper clip by slowly rolling the rim of those aluminum foil ashtrays you used to get at McDonald's years ago. Anybody remember those? And those cool plastic coffee stirrers that were like little spoons on a stick with the McDonald's text embossed in the middle and a giant M on the top?
