Got a question, since I have family in the USA.

What if I got one of them to purchase a car for me, and then waited
two weeks, and then they sold it to me as a used car.

Would a Honda have warranty coverage in Canada since it's "used"?
Would there be more hassle at the border since it's "used"?
Any duties on used vehicles, versus a brand new one?

A familiar theme!

I actually went with leather in my vehicles because spills like that are a lot easier to clean off leather than they are from cloth. The lesser of two evils, I guess...

From what I have read, and from what a good friend (who is a mechanic at T&T) said, Honda will not honor any US warranty in Canada, period.

No, the process is the same, as long as you have all the required documents that the border requires.

No, the duties are the same. The key for no duty is that the vehicle is manufactured in North America, and says so on the information sticker on the vehicle.

A lot of guys in AB and BC have bought through him, so he's very familiar with the whole importing thing.

Good luck. I guess I'll have to live with my '03 WRX for a big longer. It's paid off in October. Maybe then my wife will let me upgrade. haha

But, I am also considering a Honda.... and really was just wondering how much the Honda dealerships in the US haggle. Anyone know?
I bought and imported a Subaru in October '06. Feel free to PM any questions. With a $.90 CDN$ at the time I estimate I saved approx. $18K on a Tribeca 7 pass Limited. Far easier a process than I would have thought, too.

I've got a buddy that sells cars at Calgary Honda and they do not haggle price there. The price on the sticker is the price you pay or you don't buy the car.
