Looking for a Deck builder

Hate to bring up an old thread but for people who have recently got there deck built how much did it cost you? we are getting quoted all different numbers, I know it depends on how big or what not but somewhat of an idea would be great.

I charge $21 sq ft, I'm in ontario though and I'm not sure how much of a difference it'll be there

I'm guessing that's including materials. After seeing that I was thinking I was in the wrong line of work. If that's the going rate plus materials, then I'm quitting my job tomorrow.

What materials do you use? I have been charging $13/sq ft for the standard pressure treated deck in Lloydminster. I've been framing more houses now and not many decks, most people do their own.

yes, would be for pressure treated also. $13 would be a very nice price, I couldn't do that and pay employees and hire a bobcat and stay in business. I would guess there is a huge difference here, my rate is for the home builders and not for private sales

That $21 sounds about right, for the quotes I got.

I did mine myself for about $8-9 sqft.

The quotes around Calgary are generally cost of materials times two.

I started the thread so I should reply hehe...

I am now getting mine built,intially I wanted to help the guy who was gonna work at it for me but don't have the time....

I am getting mine built for $17/ sq ft but I am getting the Dek-master put in with Aluminum railing..decent size too...material quite expensive. Bought the material myself, Totem has preety good prices.
