hack. Getting raped by a newbie. My rationale, was that i lose short term but win long term. And i've been trying to get Radulov since pretty much i joined the league.

Interesting....
Given your circumstances and being in a world of trouble regarding your payroll and getting under cap come July 1st, I think this is actually a solid return.
You drop around 11MIL in salary (with Vokoun pending UFA set to make 10MIL) and you add around 8MIL with Budaj set for a raise, but a much easier RFA to handle than Vokoun's guaranteed salary.
So you save 3MIL now, but then... you are going to be moving 4.5MIL in cap to Nashville for next year... so... uh....
But yeah, to be quite honest, good return I think... Radulov is a great asset, Sedin is a solid player and Budaj's a decent goalie.
You still need to cut about 14MIL soon though...
EDIT to add that, if everyone just stops dealing with you right now, you'll most certainly get raped in the deals to follow leading up to July 1st...

I actually think its pretty even all things considered. Its a great deal for Nashville in terms of addressing team needs. But you needed to shed salary and still managed to get back two great young pieces in Radulov and Sedin.
For a guy with such immense talent Radulov sure gets dealt a lot.
When will he make it back to Minny? I think I actually drafted him way back when.

I know i really cant. I think i'm just addicted to trading. You were the front runner for Vokoun or Harding for the longest time. Now Harding is unfortantely off the block.

Umm, I think you missed a part of the deal.

I though I got a PM from you saying good goalies like Vokun would never be traded with this new system? But being over cap with signed players vs. unsigned players is different as you were in position to lose Vokun if you couldn't get under cap in the next three weeks. So at least now you get to keep all the guys you have, or have more time now to get things in order.

Voted for maybe a little... not because I thought the deal was terribly uneven but I feel like Philly could have gotten more for each guy had they traded them seperately. Vokoun is one of the best goalies in the league and McCabe has his faults but he's still a top rated defenseman.
But, at least Philly shed's some salary and some age, and they still have 4 solid goalies to make more deals with.

Not an awful deal...as a GM, you sometimes have to make deals that hurt in the present time but will benefit you in the future. Worse deals have definitely graced the CPHL.
No matter how experienced a GM may be, you learn something from each and every deal.

The Flyers have acquired yet another number one goaltender. We now have four starters on the roster. More news to come later.

GM Noops is known to be a risk taker, but todays trade for goaltender Dominek Hasek, may just be stupid.
GM Noops commented after the trade, "we gave up a top four dman in Michal Rozsival (76 OV), but Hasek is just an all world talent. The Flyers organization is going to try very hard to convince Dom to play one more season, and I think we have the tools to make him want to play. Our offense might be the best in the league with stars like McDonald, Selanne, Sedin, Nylander, Brind'Amour, Morrow, Jason Blake, and Martin Erat. We also have one of the best groups of young Dmen in Weber, Suter and Seabrook. And if Dom decides to play another year we could have one to two goaltenders we could move for help on defense.
Sure, we gave up a lot but I think our organization has developed the depth to be able to make a gamble of this nature.
We hope to convince Dom over the next few weeks.
