The new Michael Lee-Chin crystal is really something. Most either love it or hate it. Had the used more glass, I think I would have been in the former camp.

I would say Montreal rocks, TO just pisses me off, but every place is worth visiting atleast once (besides Edmonton).

I love how everyone always rags on people for being pro this or pro that ie: oilers fans saying their team is the best or their prospect is the best, whenever anyone posts that here whether its the truth or not we are all over that poster. If someone posts that vancouver has the best fans we're all over that poster. But if someone posts we have the best prospects in the system everyone agrees, nods, pats their backs. Go through this thread again and re read the posts. The guy asks what to do in ontario and everyone immediately says "ontario sucks, toronto is a dump" blah blah. I guess one thing i've learned from calgarypuck is if it's not confined within the limits of the city of calgary then it's useless. I guess we should all move there. Don't get me wrong i love calgarypuck and being from out of town keeps me up to date on our beloved flames but some of the attitudes in here are embarassing. I'm sure people will be all over this post too because i'm speaking the truth. Oh well, won't change my view that people have the blinders on and it won't change my view that i love this site for the facts and inside info. on the flames and the way some posts make me shake my head.
Moving on: the Toronto Zoo is pretty cool too. Wonderland is a must for kids that age along with Niagara Falls. Jays game, CN Tower, Eaton Centre, Hall of Fame, all fun things for kids that age. Tell your buddy to have a good trip.

Pretty darn nice place to spread your ashes. If you like the outdoors and have the time, Tobermory is absolutely stunning. Fathom Five Marine National Park, Flowerpot Island. Just breathtaking.

Absolutely you should visit Ontario. Dont listen to some of the others in this thread bout steerin clear of Toronto. I feel both Toronto or Montreal are the most dynamic cities in Canada. Even in the busy confines of Toronto, you will never run out of things to do.
Great restaurants, live theatre(decent ones too), broadway, concerts, HHOF, comedy, best nightlife(besides MTL) in Canada. Needless to say, you will never be bored in a city like Toronto. The only way I feel you may not like T.O. is if you truly hate big city life with a passion.
Its a wonderful city. Niagara is close by too, as mentioned. If you have never been to Toronto or any large city, you may be a little shocked at the sheer number of people around, but you will get used to it. Not as busy as New York City. But certainly much more fun and busy than Calgary. You cant even compare the two with respect to things to do, nightlife overall city atmosphere etc, but that is to be expected with the difference in populations. Just go and enjoy it!!!!
As for kids, as mentioned there is the Zoo, which is the largest in the nation, Canadas Wonderland is also huge and great for kids, Ontario Science Center, Ontario Place(which has a waterpark as well) or Riverdale farm, there is also a place similar to Heritage park there as well, just on a larger scale.

There is a bias on here towards anything Calgary, but its to be expected, as this is a Calgary based site. I think its more of a civic pride thing. Pretty sure that if you go on any other site as well, with roots from a particular city, there would be the same type of mentality.
Its just up to those whom read these forums for advice as asked by the particular poster to take those biased comments with a grain of salt and be objective.

hahaha, good one fotze, so when people write "toronto sucks" or "TO just pisses me off" or "no one speaks english there" i guess i should know that they're joking. Thanks for the tip. Also, thanks for making my point even more valid. Have a great day.

Actually, if you look up and check out the thread title, you'll notice he asks if Ontario is worth visiting.
You'll also notice that people here don't hate on everything outside of Canada. Did you notice any posts saying Ottawa is a dump? Montreal? Quebec city? No. In fact, I don't think I've seen any one of those cities called a dump on Calgarypuck before. I have seen Toronto called a dump, as well as Edmonton and Buffalo. Ever get the feeling that people that don't live in Toronto might not love it as much as you? Of Canada's big 3 Toronto is so far at the bottom of that list it isn't even funny. Good thing Hamilton is kept near by as the fat friend to make the ugly girl look a little bit better by contrast.

so i guess ontario isn't worth visiting then if you listen to half the people posting in this thread, i think we all know that's not the case, so that's my point.

Rent a cottage in Muskoka. That's what the locals do in the summer.
Go see the bikini babes at Grand Bend - beach north of London
Ottawa is nice - the National Art Gallery is fantastic.
MTL and QUE are awesome cities - almost like being in Europe. Plenty of festivals in MTL all summer - jazz, comedy etc.
Windsor - Detroit can be interesting.

Ontario is worth the trip almost exclusively for the purpose of speeding down Frank The Tank's Street at 90km/h in London.

I'm sure those girls will love the Bay street (I think that is the one with all the trendy expensive shops) and some of the cultural things around. The ROM was partially opened so check before you go see it (they had the third floor closed down). Outside of Toronto I would have to second the Niagra on the Lake. Beautiful little town with a fabulous little pub (Angel Inn I believe). I enjoyed walking around in March so I would expect the summer time to be a little better. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the drinking age 19 in Ontario? That might throw a wrench into the wine thing if it is.
Anways short version is that there are a lot of interesting historical things out east. I would recommend going out seeing things but my one word of warning for those from Calgary going east is make sure you have Air conditioning. That heat and humidity is brutal.

It is 19 indeed. Also, the Toronto Island tour is fun.

Did I ever say that?
I never even said Toronto wasn't worth a visit.
Ontario has lots to see and do. Toronto has a huge amount of things to check out.
Buffalo is in my opinion a dump, but it was still a great place to check out and a very fun town in it's own right. The grit and the age of everything was fascinating, and the night life was surprisingly excellent.
Toronto isn't my favorite city, but it is most definitely worth seeing. Calgary isn't my favorite city, yet I live here and really don't mind it at all.

I can’t really give a solid opinion on what Ontario is like because I have never been there, however those commercial advertising for tourism in Ontario are among the reasons I have no desire to ever go there
When that Woman sings she opens her mouth so wide….she looks like a fish…just really irritates me
