If I could pick anyway to go out it would be that way. What a little hero and an amazing battle he fought.

Win it for Elgin.

GO SENS GO!

I think someone on here had the picture from the article as an avatar.....Eastern Girl?...that always caught my eye and I wondered about it.

Now I know the full story. I hope the Sens win for little Elgin.

Man me too. Usually i just go yeah its sad but life goes on but when you combine it with sports it really gets me.

I always wanted the Sens to win the cup but now I really really want them to win it for Elgin. I am still wiping tears from my eyes at work and there are about 3 other people in this office right now.

I know every goal Ottawa score against the Ducks will make me choke up a little bit. This story has really got to me.

gotta go

Dan O'Toole had a very hard time keeping it together on Sportscentre last night when talking about this story. He almost lost in 3 times. Touching stuff.

I knew about this before, but reading that article and watching that clip . . .

I bawled like a baby. My family's wondering what the hell is wrong with me.

RIP Elgin. The Sens are gonna do it for you, little man.

Yeah I was watching that last night and couldn't even begin to be able to keep the tears from flowing - don't know how he did it.

Apparently Cybulski will be in Ottawa and have a piece featuring Elgin & his family today on TSN for those that are interested.

Go Sens for Elgin!!! !

Yup, anyone who wants to catch it tune in to Thats Hockey at 5PM tonight. They just gave a little promo for it on Sportscentre

wow, i was doing good until the end of the segment, but when Gino Reda tried to say the charity info and was obviously having trouble holding it together, i lost it. i originally had plans to root for the Ducks in the finals, but screw that. Ottawa NEEDS to win the cup, that's the only way this story can end

I hope this is able to raise a lot of money for CHEO. Otherwise it's a cheap nasty trick.

The Senators played the same card against the Devils in 2003. "We have to win it for Captain Video".

Small children of all ages die of nasty diseases every day. Leukemia, malaria, diarrhea (responsible for 18% of all childrens deaths)... it's absolutely mind numbing. Not to make this a religious thing, but when I see these kids suffering in pain, that is certainly what makes me question if there is a good higher power.

Using Elgin to manipulate heartstrings, IMO, is unfair ball. Some good has come out of this story being on the front pages:
- the family has had an outpouring of support from the community
- CHEO and cancer research charities are getting more money

But I don't like how it demonizes the other team. If the Ducks win, they will have destroyed the dying wish of a tiny 3 year old boy.

Yeah, I had the pic of Mike Fisher and Elgin together in my sig for a little while. It was the pic that appeared on the front page of the Sun here, after Elgin practised with the guys. I just thought it was really sweet how they all came out and said hello and played with him. It was great that they took the time to do that.

He really did seem like a happy little guy, it's definitely a sad story.
