I don't understand why you are basing your assertion that 'the league is dead' on the playoffs ... 75% of the teams are not involved in the daily games. We can't trade. We can't do lines. We can't do anything with our teams. We've already posted our year-end stories.

That's all I have to add; I'll step out now.

BS. Tons of stuff non playoff teams can do. Write a report of some kind for the league. Do some kind of prospect analysis on your own team. Take the initiative and do something to give people something to read. Just becuase someone is not in the playoffs means they can hibernate and not take part...bull.

Lots to be done and if people weren't so slack it could easily get better around here in a hurry.

Frankly, I don't expect more than what's going on at this time. This isn't my job, it's my hobby. I left a league that I helped create cause I didn't have enough time to dedicate to it. I know I'm not on your list, but relax... this is what the off season brings.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this way. And if the HO thinks someone is lacking, they'll deal with it. This is an inappropriate forum to discuss this in, and if anyone thinks that they're on their way out, they'd better start talking to HO before anyone else.

/I gotta get rid of this soap box.

Well if it isn't discussed here it will never get talked about. Am I a bad guy for speaking up to try and fix a problem? Of course I am! What else is new!

What problem? This 'participation' is normal, and accepted at this time of year. If these GMs you've talked to have issues with the league, they should be talking to the league. Period, end of story.

There's a waiting list of people that want in. If you want out, don't keep the new blood from getting in.

Well, I will be writing the league's future watch report this year, but I was planning on saving that for just a bit longer, for a time when league activity is on the wane and to generate excitement about next season. Clearly, this would be inappropriate to do now, because the focus is still on this season.

Besides, for some time, the non-playoff teams were more active than the playoff teams in game threads and other places. I honestly don't see what more you expect from us and the league, Dave, especially with 75% of the league currently out of day-to-day competition. For me, that is one huge thing that motivates me in posting and I'm sure it's the case for others.

Anyway, posting this with you can clearly accomplish no good, so I'm done, but please stop with the victim complex, Dave; no one here is calling you 'the bad guy'.

Nice! Been practicing your commish speech eh?

Me thinks it is time for a LOCKING. I won't repeat myself a million times.

#1 Good GM's notice the same things I have
#2 Good GM's thinking about stepping down
#3 I tried to be nice and send a PM letting Grant know what's up to try and do something...ANYTHING
#4 It has come to this, what a complete waste of time.

The issue re: simming times seems to come up over and over and over again with you. It's been addressed how many times now? Until the Simmers change over to people on the East coast (which it was when Cheese was doing the simming), operating on Mountain time is just the way it'll be as Grant put it. Please, can we drop that already?

As per the other issues, it's been covered ad nauseum already in this thread, so all that's left to say from my point of view is that in the end, this league is run damn well and the participation level is unrivaled. If there is indeed a problem in this league, I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one bright enough to spot it, and the various commissioners will address them as they see fit... in the off-season... so as to not take away from the playoffs.

So essentially, those who feel that the drop in activity of late is because of the fact that 8 of 32 teams are participating (ie. disagreeing with you)... are "bad GMs"?

Okay then.

When has it ever not come to this?

The drop in activity has been an ongoing issue. There are several terrible GM's in this league who do nothing more than fill an empty space. Some will get fired and I look forward to that day.

NOOOB, It becomes a complete waste of time when people like you decide to play commish and get your nose plugged with poop. I didn't start this thread but I do have stuff to say.

When I try and play commish??! HA HA! Unbelievable!!

This from a GM (read: not a commissioner) calling other GMs out for "not participating"...

Laughable.

I will NEVER EVER be asked and will NEVER EVER be a commish in this league. I do want what is best for the CPHL and knowing how some GM's currently feel, it was worth a shot to try and generate some interest. And YES I am calling some GM's out cause they are CRAP. I wish they would just quit.

A couple could have been abducted by aliens a few months ago and we would have never known because they don't participate anyways.
