Ahhh BSD... in 2 of my 4 years at UofC fell on my BDay. Good times.

One year when I lived in Olympus, we decided to have a 9:00 am Keg party, invited lots of friends.

I got a few friends to help prepare the night before, we picked up 2 kegs, got some mix, a few bottles of tequila, and went to set up.

We decided to tap a keg to make sure it "tasted right".

So anyway, word spread and soon there was about 12 of us "tasting" the keg, with a few comers and goers.

The keg was empty by 4:00 am. We all passed out. Mega people showed up starting at 9:00 am, with lots of us passed out around the apartment.

The second keg was empty by 10:30 or so, and then we hit the outdoor campus.

Good time! (Early 90's, I'm old!)

Of my five years at U of C, I can remember four of them (let us assume the fifth was a crazy one).

My best was probably the one where I met the Hooters waitress/Speakeasy dancer who took me to her workplaces as the evening progressed...

My worst would probably be starting and finishing a 14-page poetry essay that was due that very day, and thus I was stuck in the Info Commons for the whole day sober.

I'll be working until 5 and then going for drinks with the co-workers since it's my last shift at my job.
Maybe going out at night somewhere, but the day will be lost.
I find BSD a little overated anyway.

We used to set up a kiddie pool in our living room when we lived in rez. We'd put plastic on the ground and then fill it up with hot water to make it like a hot tub. If you've been in Cascade, you know how small those living rooms are, it would be so hot and muggy. It was good times. This year I will have to miss BSD because of a final on Saturday at noon! Boo.

Working, so won't be going.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but last year's BSD was pretty much the best day of my life in recent memory.

I WILL be going next year, as I'll be graduating.

Maybe it is because I am 5-10 years older than most of the people here, but BSD just annoys to me most of the time. Last thing I need the last day of classes when 2 major assignments due is some idiots running through the halls screaming.

Ah yes good times Thunderball. I too will be dreaming of my former BSD years while I plow away at spreadsheets all day. I remember 2004 (the year they cancelled the Beer Gardens outside because of snow). The city was alive with the Vancouver/Calgary round one series. At the end of the night, I tried to get a cab from Tequila on 17th to go home to the north at 2AM. Ended up walking to 16th Ave North trying to get a cab, got really sick in the freezing rain. It was all worth it!!
