I noticed that webmail (webmail.shaw.ca) does not encrypt your password when sending it to the server (I noticed this while trying to check my email over a dial-up connection while on vacation in Africa).
Is there no secure way of passing the password to the server? Is Shaw planning to make this more secure?
I took my old modem at work into Shaw and exchanged it with for that new one no problem. The only issue I have had with it is sometimes it goes into 'Standby' mode for some reason. All you have to do is press the 'Standby' button though. No big deal.

I do not know of any plans but when you check your e-mail through your e-mail problem the username and password are also not secure. I can see that making the website secure can have its benifts more so then checking your e-mail on your home computer that is on Shaw. I will try to find out if this is in the future plans or not but it could take some time.
