I find that 90% of beer is all the same. It's really all about marketing.

Some bad beer??? Its all bad beer.

I don't get why everyone in Calgary likes Big Rock so much I haven't had one that I have liked.

But to each his own I guess.
Says the guy who wishes Pilsner was available on tap in more places...

I like Big Rock's Kold. Most here seem to like the darker beers though, so you'll all probably not like it much. [/b][/quote]
Thats right Pilsner is the nectar of the gods.

Seriously I love Pilsner and would drink it over anything else I ever had.

That's somewhat true. My father works for Moosehead, and he said that their brewmaster concluded that Blue and Kokanee are virtually the same beer with a different label and different marketing campaigns.

It's funny you say that, because I was going to mention Moosehead as a good beer and one of the 10% that is not the same.

You're drinking the wrong beer then.

A Hoegaarden is VERY different from a St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout. As is a Maudite to a Creemore Springs Lager.

The mass produced crap might be pretty similiar (although I find Blue to be the most undrinkable mass produced swill ever created) but if you look towards smaller breweries you'll find lots of unique tasting beers.

Which IS like 90% of the market.

And even with most microbrews, they may be different from the big company beer, but most are similar to each other. Of course, there are going to some exceptions, but in general.

Isn't it A Marca Bavaria? Not Maca Bavaria?

I have nothing useful to add to the conversation.
