One of my first posts was a Konstantinov joke.
Didn't go over well.

What does active members mean? Someone who has logged on in the past month or what?

Joined in July 2002, was shown the site by a friend, don't post very often though. Come here more for info than anything, definitely addicted, I read the site every day.

Best source of Flames info there is, I don't post much because most of what I would say has already been said and I'm too lazy. If I actually have something good to say I do.

Mike Board left the Calgary Herald where he was on the Flames beat and ended up at Calgarypuck with Bingo. Board asked me to write some articles for Calgarypuck in roughly 2000, which I did through to roughly 2005 . . . . . not much time for that kind of fun these days.

That's how I found the place.

One of my friends in university directed me to CP and I've been here ever since. I believe it was 2001. At that time, I was able to go to Flames games on Student Nights and Family Nights, getting great 200 bowl seats for around $30. How times have changed!

I remember going to a game versus St. Louis in 2002 and I could hear fellow CPers around me...as we were all referring to a certain someone we called Special Neids...

Speaking of first posts that didn't go over well... I think I'm one of the reasons they implemented that "25 posts before starting your own thread" rules. Something to be proud of I guess...

Started lurking in 2002, and joined in 2003 because Dr.Hook and I went to Stamps games together and he mentioned the site. Funny thing now is that I read the OT board more than the Flames Board.

I signed up in September of 2003 out of sheer frustration of the lack of information in Ontario about the hometown Flames. Just did a quick search, stumbled upon the site and immediately went "holy crap, now THESE guys are FANS". I lurked for about a year before I registered and actually made a comment, as i was a nervous message board virgin.

I think I signed up Mar 04... it will correct me on the left under my links if I am wrong...

But I lurked for over a year before that. Being a member, you almost forget about lurkers. HELLO to all the lurkers!

October 2002 I joined. Lurked for a bit after my brother (Picard) told me about the sight. I was also using the sportsnet boards and I remember thinking this place was not as good because all everyone did was agree with eachother.
Boy was I wrong!

I joined June 02 after lurking for a while. I first found the site after Sidney Crosby's Hat who I had on my ICQ list told me about it.

I remember the tree format as well. I forget how many iterations of this place I went throuogh, I was away for many years. I'm actually amazed I recognize as many names as I do.

Just curious...how do you guys define 'active members'? Amount of time since last login or something?

I started reading the forum after a friend linked me to 'I can't stop talking about Dion Phaneuf'.

Interestingly enough, that friend finally made a username for CP last week. Still wont tell me what it is though...

Yep, there have been several tree formats. This one was black background and yellow and red print, as I remember. It was hard on the eyes LOL But the posters were worth reading in that horrible format and font.

I joined last week, I was actually introduced to it last semester by a guy in my MGIS class at the U of C. I lurked for a long time, but I eventually was desperate to post so I joined up. Its been fun, theres a lot of info on this site and you get to hear different opinions and perspectives on everything which is awesome.

I'm also in it for the Oiler bashing. Man, they should start up some sort of league for Oiler bashing, make it a sport of its own. Oiler bashing is closer to a sport than the "hockey" that team is playing right now.

Glad to be here and meet you guys.
Locke.

Yes, that's the number of people who have posted within the last year. There's probably about 3-400 people who post on a day to day basis here. (according to Photon at least.)

I joined in Oct 2003, so the start of the regular season that eventually led to the 04 run.

I've been told about this site by a teacher of mine cuz we'd always talk about hockey. He lurks but doesn't post on here but he says the people on CP are a lot more knowledgeable and friendly than people at CF.com

I didn't post much the first time around, lurked, read and put in the occasional useless post... It wasn't until the CF.com board went down because of the comics, that I come to CP full time and haven't been back to CF.com since.

I joined in 2000 after a friend from the school I was attending (Regulator?) mentioned the site. I've been mostly a lurker but make the odd post every now and then.
