"glory days"
If you consider glory days as ruining great old songs by defecating another manufactured 'modern pop' version of the same song back onto the market as being worthy of glory, sure. As for me there are very few covers that are any better than the orginal. From time to to there's one or two that defy the rules, but for the most part, it's crap.

WTF? When did this happen? That's just nasty. Didn't any of the managers notice and pull her off stage? Yikes.

BEP was great prior to Fergie. I also loved "Where is the Love". THings when pretty south after that.
And speaking of Britney Spears and covers, here's Travis doing a cover of Hit Me Baby One More Time.

I googled something like "Fergie pisses her pants" and the story goes that it was at some festival and they showed up an hour late and totally liquored and she stumbled off out of the lights and then came back with leaky Pampers.
Talk about amateur hour. Even I know not to piss my pants unless they are either white or vinyl (or white vinyl). If they are white, it's invisible, if the pants are vinyl then it becomes more of a sloppy shoe issue and you can diffuse the situation by saying "when I find out who took a leak in my sneakers I'm gonna break some heads".

God you crack me up sometimes.
"My Humps" is destined to become the "Ice Ice Baby" of this decade.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about Britney being hot in her "glory days". In that vid, she looks hot as hell, but since her fall from grace, I don't think anyone here would hit it.

Thank you. That's exactly what i meant. Her "glory days" had nothing to do with the music, just the videos.

I never knew what a true sell out was until Sugar Ray. The definition of sell out was sealed with post Fergie BEP. Pre-Fergie BEP's songs had message, and were insightful. I highly reccomend the song with Esthero. Can't remember the name of it, but I remember when it came out, that it was one of the better songs of it's time IMO.
I'm in the boat that thinks that Alanis's version is much better than the regular. It's sad that the music industry is now making money of the packaging, and not the product. But it's making money, so they don't care.
There's a reason why I've only purchased maybe 3 or 4 CDs since 2000.

I love hip hop, and BEP used to be pretty good. Now they suck, thanks to Fergie. They had a new song out not to long ago where Fergie actually rapped the whole time and it was so, so weak. She's just so bad.

That's how it works. Notice that people over the age of 20 rarely get busted by the RIAA (at least it's not on the news...and yes I am guilty of using the number 20, just because I'm 21. :P). It's because the people most opposed to music downloading are these jokes that manufacture music. It's always a bunch of young kids listening to this....I guess they have to save money to go to a stupid concert of one of those pop groups (which overcharge you to hear them doing karaoke on their pre-recorded 'music'....if you're lucky. Somtimes it's ALL on tape)
Props to Alanis, that made my day a bit funnier.

It's called parody. I guess it takes a sense of humour to understand one. She is letting the world know how useless Fergie and her "band" really are.

I thought Fergalicious might give them both a good shot or maybe even Gwen Stefani's "hollaback Girl"
I liked Gwen better when she HAD talent. No Doubt was a good band but I am starting to think she was just the pretty face working with some good thinkers. Now she just flat out sucks

Brilliant satire. That takes me back to the days of Jagged Little Pill being played over and over on the radio. For what it's worth, the difference in quality of pop music between Alanis and Fergie is just a massive gulf.
Yeah.
