The problem with this flix is its over three hours long, and in todays attention fan deficit society thats death to a move, both from getting people into the theatre and having enough run times to make the movie profitable.

Its a nice salute to the type of bad movies that I grew up with, and its more then likely that this movie will do better on DVD then in the threatre, which is too bad because you really need to see this movie in a run down threatre with sticky floors, popping speakers and a grimy screen.

I agree that it's length may be considered as negative by the audience, especially the younger audience. But I felt that both flicks have enough to offer to keep people in their seats. The entire package with the faux trailers is just over three hours with no intermission, but if people can sit through The Lord of The Rings series, each averaging about 2hrs and a half, I'm sure their attention span handle this. Especially when you have gore galore with beautiful kick ass women as the heroes of each flick.

I just wanted to add that although it hasn't been confirmed yet, Rodriguez has apparantely already shot about a third of Machete...the faux trailer he shot for grindhouse.

MOD EDIT: Possible spoilers below.

I just saw this last night. I thought Planet Terror was really awesome, but Deathproof was kinda lame. The first half was so boring, and I was glad for the missing reel, because I did not want to see that ugly botox chick with a duck face and a fat ass give Kurt Russel a lapdance. Then all the sudden, everybody dies and there's a whole new set of characters! Why did Tarantino spend so much time "developing" the first set of chicks, only to introduce four more likeable chicks? Couldn't he have done what most films of this ilk do and kill off the drunk, too cool for school s right off the bat, then have the likeable protagonists battle the villian? Anyways, I thought the climax was cool, but could've used some variety. Overall, I think Tarantino hasn't made a good movie since Pulp Fiction, and the ripoff of The Dirty Dozen he's working on doesn't sound great either. He does too much coke, and has too long of a leash to do any good work anymore.

That's a matter of opinion there mate because Jackie Brown was a pretty cool flick as well as both Kill Bills. I enjoyed the pacing for this two parted flick because he manages to build tension well and it's almost as if he's going back into his own material by doing the things that made him succesful in the first place. This is like his 'Reservoir B*****s' flick.

As for 'Inglorious B@stards' I just want him to finish this one because he's been talking about making it since the release of Pulp Fiction. And come on, as if an overstylized war flick doesn't sound cool.
