There are some really good teams in 'B' and some really bad teams in 'B' (us, hence the relocation to 'C'), so since it's a fairly new league you can imagine most teams are still kind of trying to figure out where they fit.
Me and some buddies are trying to put a team together for the NCHL next winter, but we don't really know what division we fit in. We are all about 20 years old and i'd say the majority of players have been playing division 2 community hockey for the last few years, one who played junior B this year, and one or two who have been playing rec hockey.

Does anybody know what division we'd likely fit in? ( I realize it is hard based on what info I just gave, but if anybody wants to make their best guess?)

more questions....

How many players do most of you have on your teams?
Why the flip are the games so high scoring? (the leading GAA in the league was around 7 i think...Not complaining, its just interesting)

Most likely A or B. One of teh perks of playing in div A is that you get to play against Theo Fleury's team.

The goals against average is mostly due to the fact that there are a lot of really good players, but very few good goalies. So if you can get a star goalie on your team your laughing. As for the players, the best number is around 13 or 14. On our team we usually have 8 forwards (three sets of wingers, 2 centres) and 4 d-men for a total of 12 players, and when you you factor in that 1 or 2 players usually can't make it ot each game, 13 or 14 just seems to be the best number. My other team has about 16 players, and it can get kind of boring when everyone shows up. IE, people start taking longer shifts, other start complaining etc.

I have 16 Regulars and 4 subs. For summer I think I'm going to bump it up to 17 or even 18 guys do to the fact that most people vacation in the summer.

The score of the games can get out of control for a number of reasons;
-a bunch of guys don't show up for one team and the other team is rolling three lines,
-the two teams aren't evenly matched at all,
-those stupid penalty shots after 5 penalties could mean up to three more goals a game,
-not many teams lower down play a good defense first game... etc.

penalty shots for 5 penalties?

That doesn't sound fun at all.

On your 6, 7, and 8th penalties, th eother team gets a penalty shot AND the penalty still stands regardless of what happens on the PS. On your 9th penalty shot you forfeit the game and lose all your stats.

Yeah, it really sucks. Some teams just slap shot from center ice in protest of the rule.
