I've dealt with both Bell and Star Choice. Bell offers a better product, but Star Choice's product is at least adequate. I had Bell originally, but switched to Star Choice because I couldn't handle the customer service and tech support attitudes from Bell. Bell's attitude infuriated me so badly that I switched to Star Choice to lower my blood pressure, and I haven't regretted it. The final straw with Bell wasn't even related to my account with them ... they were royally screwing my 80-year-old mother, and when I phoned on her behalf they basically said tough luck buddy, switch if you're not happy otherwise shut up. So I switched both my mother and myself to Star Choice. Star Choice's customer service is about 90,000,000 % better than Bell's. Bottom line? Try Bell if you want the best product. If Bell ticks you off, switch to Star Choice.

I have been with Starchoice for about 5 years now. No problems whatsoever.

Nice that they dont nickel and dime you over all the HD channels either. Bell charges for all of them. Starchoice gives you at least 10-15 for free, including the important ones like TSN and CBC for hockey.

Center Ice is useless IMO. Unless you are outside alberta.

My brother in law subscribed to it this year and ended up with less than 5 games that I couldnt get on Starchoice. Not worth $200 IMO.

Not to mention the customer service hassles.

By the way, whoever mentioned the 2 sattelites thing, I think you have it backwards. Starchoice has two birds in the sky, hence the elliptical dish. At least that is how it was described to me.

I think Bell may have two satellites - at least my switch for the HD receiver lists two staellites.

My HD PVR receiver has crapped out for the second time in three weeks. Bell has been quick at replacing them, but eventually I want something I'm paying for to start working again.

Bell has four satellites at two locations. I understand some are old and weak and they back up each other. A new satellite is being built and I hear it will be put at a third location so we may have to get a new dish.
