Sorry to derail this thread...
Have you ever been to Croatia? Just wondering because I am looking there for my next vacation
I have seen pictures of it and its seems to fantastical to be true - you dont expect that given the bad press Croatia has gotten.
Just wondering - thanks.

Yes I have and I would totally recommend it. Croatia is amazingly beautiful. It has really great beaches nestled in between mountains, and is generally a really beautiful place to be. Somewhat of a tourist hot-spot these days actually.

I know of at least one Croatian CP poster who can give you lots of good info on that place. Think of a saucy siren named after a tropical fruit. IIRC it's rated as one of Lonely Planets top travel destination for the last 3 years. Dubrovnik strikes my fancy as a place I'd like to see for myself one day.

not much choice, I was 9 years old and Dad got a job there. Neat experience, we were supposed to be there for 2 years, but it ended up being only 6 months. I'd love to go back. I'd be a little wary with Gonzo Hugo at the helm there, but it is a beautiful country.

Someone who is non-sedentary, moves around a lot (traditionally to take advantage of available food resources; in Jordon's case it is to take advantage of cooler resources).

For all of you nomads, where is/was the favourite place that you live(d)?
Personally, I loved Montreal. It is a really diverse city where people love to have fun and get out. I never lived in a city where there was so much to do...particularly in the summer when there is festival after festival. The winters are kinda nasty and long though.

Easily Leduc, I remember it being pretty nice back in the day and I had a river behind my house as well which was damn awesome.
