Joining the Canadian Air Force for sure.
It opened a lot of doors for me and allowed me to live the way I do now. Nothing beats free housing + utilities for 6+ years.
The decisions I make this summer might in the end turn out to be the best, but only time will tell.

Going back to school so I could have a career I enjoy.
Cutting someone out of my life about 7 years ago was also a real good move on my part.
Deciding I needed to spend more time with my folks. In fact I took a vacation with them about 4 years ago when I was about 27 that was a great experience.

Same indusrty, different results.
Picking my then fiancee over my career path (which was the same as Jiri's) has led to more positives than negatives. I still itch to get back in, but there's no way I'd be living the same life I do now had I stayed.

Listening to EMO is not counselling.

The best decisions in my life seem to have been the hardest.
Breaking up with my girlfriend of three years was probably one of them. Although the breakup was recent, I know its one of the best things I've done.
Taking full custody of my son when his mother couldnt take him anymore was also one of the best things I have ever done.
Finishing my degree.

Being very persistant in getting my friend (eventual Wife) to come out to visit, we had been friends for over a year through constant email and phone conversations and after much persistance she came to visit in 1999 and havne't been away from her for more than 2 weeks since.

selecting land as a career, then watching a waiting list grow to over 200 people to get into the program beginning about 3 or 4 months later.
(although the job prospects are fairly depressing it will still be an awesome career).

Auditioning for my high school's spring musical in my freshman year. That decision opened doors to so many new friendships, and also helped me learn a lot about myself. Music and acting are a pretty big part of my life right now...couldnt imagine how high school would have been without them!

Deciding to continue on with getting my degree. I had pretty much dropped out of school, because I was so unhappy with it, but I decided to go back and finish up and I graduated and got my degree.
Finally standing up for myself, after letting my friends from high school essentially walk all over me and treat me like crap for so long. I suppose in high school, I was quite non confrontational, perhaps even weak. I never wanted to make a fuss or cause problems so I just let it happen. Once I went away to university and made new friends, I realized just how bad they always were to me. I went back and confronted them, got it all off my chest and I never felt better. I even managed to salvage a couple of those friendships.

Same as yours. I went back to school after my first doughter was born because I realized that I could not live on meaningless jobs, I was happy doing them but needed to make myself better. Now because of that I am in a great job and having fun doing it. (and the money is not bad either).

Not letting my old job move me to Toronto - I would have left friends, family, and the woman I love if I went out there - and just found out they got rid of everyone on that program.

Best decision.
To get over acting like a child because of my worst decision and take control of my own damn life.

Best decision...hmmmm...thats a tough one.
Probably deciding to play football. Took it up in grade 12 when we moved to Ontario. Did it to make some friends more than anything, my coach saw some raw talent, worked with me all off season and grade 13 (yay Ontario!) I was a starter. Went on to play 5 years of University ball and had a really great career. I learned SO MUCH playing football in University. About life, about commitment, about pain, heartache and absolute joy and pride. Really meant a lot to me.

Switching schools in Grade 9. I lost touch with most of the friends I grew up with but that turned out to be a good thing as most of them went on to drop out of school, deal drugs, go to jail, etc.
