I'm still curious to hear how vegas is wrong. Look, TP thinks the pack is ready for big things next year. I think they are avg at best, largely because of the division they are in. Why can't it just be left at that without starting the insult war.
|
As per usual, you start the insult war and then cry foul on the other.
You basically confirmed that when you didn't return my last PM from the other incident.

NO was 150-1 in May when I was there anyway.
But as fun as that was to watch, it was an abnormality and everyone knows that. That's the thing about upsets, they happen once in a while, other wise a third of the league would pay $1M to one. Right?
BTW, the saints success probably had a little to do with their #1 pick RB, #7 pick WR and two Olineman drafted in the last two years. They had one great FA signing, one that may have had the most impact for a UFA in a decade, or since the CBA allowed for UFA's.
I still want to know which part is bad analysis. You threw the insults without the rationale.

I didn't return your PM because it was going nowhere ... which one of us was going to convince the other of anything?
It went back and forth about stupid things, escalated by your insults. You throw them around then when they come back you can't deal with it. Compound that with the fact that you think the Grizzleys are NC's and that you and I were really making similar arguements and couldn't figure that out ... I was positive nothing useful would come out of the PM's.

Again...it's me with the insults, yet you were clearly the first....and I outlined that in the PM's.
Ignored.
Easy to see why.

I replied to that and showed you where you started the insults ... and all you could say is "You think that's an insult" Remember.
How petty dude, I responded to 2 or 3 of those PM's and how much progress was being made?
Again for clarity I showed you where you started the insults and all you could do was suggest that when you say something it's not an insult.
And I'm hijacking a thread?

Yes because you offered nothing to the thread except to outline why tranny is an idiot and you are brilliant.
"I think your logic is flawed" is not an insult. Anybody else disagree besides this guy?

I said that cap room didn't mean much (which is true) and it was escalated from there. Can you either turn the page or just mind your discussions? (sorry if that's an insult)

All I did was answer your question.

But that isnt true....it all depends on who it is spent on and if they make a team better.
New Orleans won a home playoff game for the first time in team history because they had cap space last year and signed Drew Brees.
Unless you are really trying to suggest that the Saints success was based more on Bush and Colston than on the QB.
think they would of had the same results with Aaron Brooks? (You know, the guy they drafted and developed and all that?)

Not sure if T99 was referring to my thoughts when he said others were suggesting Favre was only staying to break records, but I wanted to make it clear that's not what I think. My quote:
Quote:
|
I'd hardly say his QB rating is the only reason I think the guy is no longer very good. I'd also say he may or may not be the best QB in Green Bay, but as long as he chooses to play management is under a lot of pressure to let him extend his streak and try and break Marino's last few career records.
|
Dramatically different than saying Favre is coming back to break records.
As for the article, I think the more interesting teams are the Bears, Chargers (co-favorites at this point who will probably get better), Bengals (for who they lose/bring back), Titans (for real?), Cardinals (I thought this last year though) and unfortunately the Pats (I can't imagine they will fade as badly as Clayton suggests). I also think Clayton seriously overestimates Baltimore - I see this as a declining team this year who would be better served rolling with Boller, drafting a QB and reloading.

I'm a Saints fan before I'm a flames fan, I'm acutely aware that:
a) without Brees, the Saints don't have the season they have and
b) the team would have done nothing with Aaron Brooks
However I don't think NO gets to the NFC championship without their draft pics over the last couple of years. They needed both Drew and the picks.
I also can't think of a team that went and got a FA that had such an impact, especially in year #1.
Reggie White going to GB may be similar, Jake Delhomme in Carolina? I dunno, but it's very rare.
It's all about coaching up the masses, drafting very well and staying healthy. Spening on UFA's falls somewhere after that.

Why not use the Superbowl champs for an example then.
Drafted-Sanders, Manning, Wayne, Harrison, Freeny,Clark,Mathis, I could go on for a longggg time here.

Are you implying the Saints drafted or even really developed Brooks?
Aren't you are Packers fan?

I think he's saying "look at NO in 06, that cap space they allowed them to get brees, which allowed them to go to the NFC championship."
GB gets the honor of drafting Brooks, but he just sat there for a year ... NO 'developed' him ... to the extent he actually developed. Seemed to me he was good up until the point that he signed his long term deal with NO.

I think he was brutal the whole time but the team around him wasn't great either so after a few decent games and some wins people get fooeld into thinking he is really good just with bad pieces around him.

He was great in his first year in NO. He came in half way through the year when Jeff Blake was injured, and shot the lights out. They knocked off the defending SB champs that year ... which I thought was a Wildcard home game (contracts from what TP said)

I want the Saints to get one of Clements or Samuel, and Daniel Graham for the tight end spot. Wouldn't be shocked to see Donnie Edwards end up as the MLB either.

They just signed last year's WLB to a 4 year deal, I thought Simoneau played well last year (thanks to Colston) . I hope they sign a vet corner then draft LB's and DB's.
And I would much prefer Clements over Asanti Samuel, for some reason stand outs on a NE roster become average elsewhere.

Shanle played well on the weakside, but Simoneau was average, especially vs. the run. Not really his fault as he played out of position, he was a backup weaksider in Philly. Edwards was rumoured to coming to the Saints during all of last seasons training camp, but the Chargers asking price of a second rounder was just too high.
p.s...what exactly did Colston have to do with Simoneau's play?
