Wow that would be pretty cool. Now if they could convince ABBA to reunite, that would be impressive.

Mind you, it wouldn't be the first time a band has reunited after staunchly declaring it would never happen (i.e. The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac).

The Police rumour was rampant up until the time of the lineup announcement but it now sounds like they will unfortunately not be there. Oh well, I'm more than happy with the bands they have (and it sounds like they could still be gunning for a big-name dance tent artist like Fatboy Slim).

I'm going to a festival here tomorrow, which has a pretty good lineup as well: http://www.bigdayout.com/lineup/artists.php
That looks like a pretty decent lineup! Tool, Cystal Method, Spank Rock, Hot Chip, Justice and Lupe Fiasco should all put on pretty decent sets and there are a few other decent artists as well.

Festivals are great...Canada needs some. Have we even had any half decent festivals since the Roadside Attraction days?

i just heard about this yesterday. i think it is the best news i have heard in years.

so since you have gone, any recommendations about the trip. if i can possibly get my hands on tickets there is nothing in the world that would keep me away from a Rage concert.
is this the type of festival that you go and pitch a tent at? or do you stay in surrounding communities? how does all that stuff work?

I've camped on site the last two years and I've had an absolute blast. You have to pay for camping through Ticketmaster (I'm pretty sure $45 will allow you to camp from Thursday to Monday morning) but it's a lot of fun and it's a nice and relaxed atmosphere. They actually have decent showers on site so it's not like you're really roughing it or anything.

My only tip: Don't underestimate the heat. It's in the middle of the desert so it's obviously bloody hot out there. We literally had to pitch up a tarp last year for shade because it was a sauna inside the tent and it was just too ridiculous outside.

You shouldn't have a problem getting tickets (at least you shouldn't have a problem getting a three day pass), it usually doesn't sell out for quite a while (although the individual days might sell out).
