I think it can be, as long as the sole purpose of the other parties is not to try and bring the government down. As it stands, there are enough opposition parties that as long as one of them agree with the standing government it will continue in power.
I think there may be times when a majority government is required to get unpopular change accomplished (like when Ralph made major cuts here, or when Mike Harris made cuts and fought the provincial workers' union (OPSEU) in Ont). However right now is a good time for a minority gov't.
