Awesome suggestions! Thanks everyone.

I checked out Battalion Wars on the cube and it was pretty fun. Has anyone played the original GBA version on the DS? I heard that dual strike is good, but not as good as the original. Speaking of which, would anyone recommend any old GBA games that I should try to get?

I still enjoy the Japanese style RPGs, strategy type games, puzzle type games... actually, there isn't much out there that I won't find SOMETHING to appreciate. Probably due to the infrequent amount of time I spend gaming.

What is this Phoenix Wright game all about? Sounds pretty cool.

Has anyone checked out the Ogre Battle game that exists for the GBA?

I really asked for this machine so I could do something when I took trips out to the field.

It is a shame that the free wireless access in Calgary is very spotty. Does anyone know if FatPort has plans to expand into this market?

There is a huge opportunity to be a wireless internet provider in Alberta (at least in the Calgary - Edmonton - Fort Mac corridor) .. I wonder why there is so little being done about it.

But based on the lack of comments on the wireless card, I assume that most of the DS owners do not utilize it?

Again, thanks for the comments.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a story based game where you progress through several murder cases. It's over the top writing and style make it mildly fun, but the gameplay i pretty lacking. It's been re-printed several times by Capcom and keeps selling out - I bought it from Amazon.ca last fall. A sequel for it is set to hit sometime this year.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike has been the main game I play on the DS. I got it last summer, and have sunk hundreds of hours into it. The graphics are a bit of a werid update from the GBA games, but the new types of units and strategies more than make up for it. If you at all enjoy turn based strategy games, this one is highly recommneded.

Otherwisre, I have Brain Age and Mario Kart : DS. Both aren't too bad - Mario Kart is fun online, but the snakers kind of ruin it for me. The online matchmaking seems to work pretty well at matching up people with similar experience and skill levels.

I've heard great things about Elite Beat Agents, but it looks pretty cheesey to me.

Oh, and to reference the "wireless card" - DS has built in WiFi compatibility, no add-on or accessory is required. Not many games support online functionality, though. But there is no extra hardware required to go online.

Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney is a "lawyer game" where you play Phoenix and you go find clues and then present them in court.

Personally, the game is waaaaay too Japanese for me to really like. Everything about it screams Japanese culture and law, and it's just really wierd despite the localization in English.

I've already tried Phoenix Wright 2 as the Japanese cart has English on it already. BTW, Phoenix Wright was a Gameboy Advance game in Japan. It's not really a DS game nor it is innovative as a DS game. They just added the touchscreen to it whereas the original it was ported from just had everything on one screen with no difficulties.

Elite Beat Agents is liked by some, but it's not my cup of tea. It's also much too Japanese and while I usually enjoy Japanese games, I hate it when they are localized for the English market because they turn out wierd. They replaced all the songs for EBA.

I'm a big fan of playing Tetris over WiFi.

And I'm a big fan of Wariorware because it makes good use of the Stylus and has hoards of fun mini-games.
