You turn him into a hockey fan like I did with my ex!
I decided however that I need help for my addiction. On Friday, while at the bar celebrating my birthday, They were showing a replay of the Canada-Germany game at about 2AM, and I wanted to go home to watch... that's bad. Hockey is my crack! How do I get off this stuff?!
So yeah, we're out there. I mostly follow your criteria so long as you think a woman can have some meat on her bones and still be hot. I think I have a much harder time finding a guy who likes hockey AND politics.

Funny thread. Just this afternoon, I asked my girlfriend to wear a Flames t-shirt for me. She refused.

Yup, thats exactly my question. My husband only knows something about hockey from playing video games...he's a huge sports fan, but being American, he likes the NCAA/NFL (which I cant stand).

Ouch.
My girlfriend likes hockey but only knows three Flames players.
She said she wanted to learn all the playersl, so I made her Flames flash cards. She also has a Flames hat now.

If she really loves hockey that's fantastic, but theres nothing worse than a girlfriend that "pretends" to love it. My girlfriend hates hockey and doesn't make any bones about it.....and that's just fine with me. I've seen lots of buddies date girls who profess to love the game but its obvious that they're only there to score favor with the guys.

Kinda funny...I have the same problem. All the guys I seem to meet do not like hockey. You think that would be easy to find, lol.

If I can find a guy who loves hockey as much as I do, and will sit and watch The Daily Show/Colbert Report and Anderson Cooper 360 with me, that's a really great place to start.

I might get some biased answers here, considering this is a hockey related site, but do hockey loving guys dig girls who are die hard hockey fans. I've heard mixed results elsewhere. Some guys seem to freak if a girl knows more about it or cheer louder then them. Is it taking away from their manhood or something that their girl would love hockey as much as them? Or does it really not matter? To me, I've love it if I met someone who was a die hard Flames fan too. I like it if we both know what's going on in the game, and are cheering etc.

HAZZAH!! Watching the game tonight. Excellent hit by Regehr and the Greaser goes down. Husband yells, "Nice!" Then turns to me in all seriousness and says, "God, I hate the Oilers." I have hope. He'll never be like me but maybe, just maybe, with another 13 years of coaching, I may end up with a guy who knows what offside is.

Doesn't matter where they're from either, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea... etc... They've all become hardcore Flames fans. =)
|
Perhaps I am...I am just intolerant to non-hockey fans. I want a girl who is already broken into the world of hockey. I don't want to have to answer why the whistle just blew when it was obviously icing. Or this is the one that really got me one time when I went with a girlfriend "woah, the other team scored...I never even noticed" I just about got up and left.

Yes, i agree. I don't know who won the last American Idol, I'm also not going to claim it's my favorite show to win favour with ladies who are fans of it. I'd rather a girl is truthful about it than fake liking hockey for me.

I lovvvvvvvvvvve die hard hockey loving girls. If any girl can keep up with me in my love for all things hockey and especially the flames that is amazing. I've met very few guys who can even do the same. I think very few people dedicate as much time to the flames as I do. To quote an ex of mine who wasn't too understanding on my obsession with the hockey. " I have never seen anyone love anything as much as you love hockey". Earlier this year I skipped my cousins wedding to go to the home opener...does that make me a bad person? If any girl can understand my thought process behind that...thank you, you're my favorite! in short...the more fan the better, if she could outfan me...wow...my dream woman.

to tell you the truth I just always thought of CP as a sausage fest. The only girls who I figured were here were ones with girl or baby in their handle. There is hope for me afterall
