I used to believe that the "Old" in Oldsmobile meant only old people like my grandparents could drive the car.

I thought the 14 players sitting on the bench during a hockey game were actually serving penalties for "high sticking" after raising their arms in the air when they scored.

Boy, was that ever a revelation.

I used to think my dad once drove a car on two wheels, like on it's side..

That pulling off your thumb was an amazing trick

That world war III was going to happen sometime when I was young (80's or 90's)

I used to think a shut out in hockey meant there was a power outage in the arena.

I used to think that religion was something more than any particular groups method of societal control.

I had this idea in my head that some really bad dude named 'Arson' was responsible for an awful lot of fires.

"Fire in the NW today; police say it was likely Arson... "

I used to think wrestling was real.

That I could fly if I could ride my bike fast enough.

That everyone only existed when they were in the same room as me.

I come from a small town where the postal code was T0M 0L0. I once asked an adult what that meant, and he told me that that was the name of our post-master: Tom Olo. Not only did I believe this, but I also believed that the woman who ran the post office must actually be a man if her first name was Tom.

hahaha me too. Except I thought they actually lit the person on fire. I used to try stop my dad from going work in the morning because I was worried he would come back home one day on 'fire'

Wrestling was real

That if you were making a face and somebody slapped you in the back your face would freeze that way forever. (thanks mom)

That girls were mean and gross, and that they weren't made of suger and spice and everything nice.

That my neighbours big brother was actually an astronaut (combination of some clever lies, and the fact that the guy was constantly high)

When I was a kid I always wondered why adults, who could buy their own groceries and eat whatever they want, didn't live on a steady diet of McCain Deep n' Delicious cakes and cream soda.

I believed a lot of crazy things about the TV. Like when someone would walk offscreen they were in some invisible world just to the left or right of the TV and they were waiting out there to get back onscreen. I even "looked" a couple times by pressing one side of my face against the screen and tried to look for whatever was happening offscreen.

I believed that t.v shows like Full House were real, and they just put cameras in peoples houses.

I believed that if I planted a stick from a tree in the ground a new tree would grow, but I didn't forget to put moss around it.I did that with a grape also.

I once thought i saw a rabbit in my closet, and it was ripping the heads off of my stuffed animals. I had a wild imagination when I was alone in the dark.

My dad's buddy used to be a rep for adidas, and one day he gave me a key chain with a little plastic shoe on it. He told me that if you put the shoe in hot water, it would expand to the size of your foot.

I spent HOURS messing around with my moms mixing bowl filled with hot water because of that a-hole.
