I think it looks good..I don't mind the changes either, its not like I've been waiting for this movie since I was 6 and the original plot line is still in my head. Old transformers = vehicles transforming into robots. New transformers = vehicles transforming into robots. Good enough for me.
If you are that much of a transformers purist, there already is an existing Transformers Movie that you should check out.

I think it looks okay, the transformers look a little goofy, but I can get over it

...Not feeling it, it's too "Independance Day-Ish" for my liking. I'll check it out when it's released on HD-DVD.

For that reason, and that reason alone... I'm going. They could make all the robots painted pink and drink coolers for all I care. Optimus needs Optimus' voice.

Not yet. So far, he's only trying to convince it to have one more drink.

I am SO looking forward to this movie!
As some posters have already stated, a movie that would be true to the 80's cartoon would never fly. Not only was it a children's cartoon, it wasn't a very well done cartoon by today's standards.
I was actually really young when the series was played during the 80's, so I don't have too many memories of it, but what I remembered was pretty sweet. Thus, to satisfy the nostalgia in me, I went out and purchased the entire series on DVD. Let me tell you, the production value was pretty poor. And the dialogue was downright cheesy! But hey, it was a part of my childhood and I'll always have fond memories of it.
The 80's Transformers movie, however, still freaking rocks!

At work we have all kinds of trailers playin on one of our floor model LCD TVs, and bar none, this and the new Ninja Turtles movie are the only ones that draw any attention. Every time I see it it's like I'm five y.o. all over again.

Which, by the way, as stated earlier, is freaking awesome.
I for one am also looking forward to this movie. I'm a sucker for these childhood nostalgia things. Though I highly doubt Spike will be running around in this movie in a yellow hard-hat and galoshes...

Which part of it? The part where the entire script was more or less stolen from Star Wars?
The part of it where it was just a toy commercial?
Fantastic animation, but I can barely sit through it.

I can say the trailor looks pretty freakin' wicked in my opinion!
I too have the complete DVD set of Transformer orginal cartoon and at 23, nearly 24 years old now .. it brings back the memories and has got me even more pumped for this movie.
As for the changes.. I don't mind them all that much, I mean, they had to do something new or no one but old die hards would go see it. BTW, Optimus Prime having his original voice is fan-f'ing-tastic!
