Well, Christmas is about family and like every year I will spend Christmas with my family... unfortunately for the second time in three years it'll be in the hospital as my father has another cancer operation on the 22nd of December to remove his kidney.
However, I have not let that dampen my spirits as I have come up with the perfect gift for at least two of my family members! I can't wait to see my neices faces when they open their gifts.

Heading back to Kamloops to visit my mom. Ironically she is a nurse and has been scheduled to work Christmas day. Which will leave my brother and I and our wives who can't cook to do Christmas dinner. I absolutely hate driving anywhere at this time of year as it's busy and the roads are usually garbage. But due to recent family circumstances it will have to be one hell of a blizzard to keep me from heading home for Christmas. But hopefully this is my last Christmas in Alberta and I won't have to worry about travelling long distances on the garbage 3rd world roads that are Canadian highways at this time of year again.

Sorry to hear that. It's nice that he's close enough that you can still go see him.

There's a bar called Moose McGillycuddy's...but I doubt they will show hockey. THey will prolly be showing all of the Bowl games and stuff like that related to college football/basketball. I went to Maui and couldnt find anywhere that would show hockey .

Which is strange because I was in Mexico 2 weeks ago and got to watch the Flames/Hawks game at a shack of a bar 6 blocks from my hotel. Beer was $1 a piece too.

I moved out of my parents house in 1997...and every year before I got married, Id go to their house for Christmas. It's so cozy!
Unfortunately, now that I got married..it's too hard (we only get 2 weeks vacation a year and its so cold there), so we just have our own Christmas at our house. I miss my parents house though. My sister is going up this year, so I know Ill be a bit sad on Christmas day (wishing I could be there).
But that's ok, cuz they're moving to Calgary in May...and then it will be easier to visit them for the holidays. YAY!!!
I miss Canadian Christmas's....it doesnt even feel like Christmas here...no snow .
Sorry for the whining...I just got homesick

really? that's awesome...maybe there is somewhere in Maui, although I looked and looked and couldnt convince anyone to change the channel. there are plenty of sports bars there of course, but they're too focused on college football at this time of the year. but that's awesome you found a place.

I hope all goes well for your dad, Firefly. It's a tough time of year to spend time in the hospital, I'm sure.

I have to go to Tampa Bay. Should be a ok time. I have a ton of family down in that area so it will be nice to see them all. Then I get back here just in time for New Years.

The best part of the whole season, isn't it?
I found the perfect gifts too...the anticipation for the reaction of the people who will recieve those gifts is even to much for me.
Thats what my Christmas is all about...giving gifts...and relaxing.

Oh, I did that last year with a big group of my friends, it was amazing!!! Have a great time!
I will also be doing a lot of driving around this year. Since my parents split up, I have to make twice as many friggin trips. It gets annoying, but I do want to see my family. Luckily, they all live in or around the GTA so I will be driving from Ottawa to Toronto and then driving around the GTA to see my brothers and my mom and dad. It should be fun. I am hoping it will be fun.
And to Firefly, I hope all goes well for your father and he gets to have a good holiday with the family.

I am working afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Oh yeah, and I work New Years Eve as well.
Yipee!
