Yeah bigtime, I like 30 Rock though but it's not on the same level. The writers try wayyyy to hard in 30 Rock.

Well, maybe it's because I find the Office a vortex of depressingness. I was a big fan of Gervais' Office and it was much the same but it's getting to me.

Cool?
You complain about derpessivness, but coming into a thread about the Office and saying, twice I guess, that another show was many times better isn't exactly cheerio o' good chap.

I thought Thursdays episode was the best so far in season 3.
My personal highlights
-Creed stealing from the gift drop at the start
-Dwight's explenation on how to take a goose's head off
-Of course Michael with the black marker on the asian waitress
-Meradith walking around with the full bottle of vodka

Favorite scene for me has to be Dwight's asking permission to join Jim's "Committee Validity" committee and his reaction when he was denied. Loved that he even raised his hand when asking permission!
Or Dwight being compromised on his secret mission...lol!

So, was my wife the only one to catch that the two asian waitresses that Michael came home with from the restaurant were different than the two that were actually their waitresses at the restaurant?
Normally, I can't stand watching repeats, but stuff like that makes The Office is a great show to TiVo and watch over again.

Man, I'm glad you said that. I thought that too initially, but then convinced myself that it couldn't be and I just made a mistake.

Is there any way for someone who missed this episode to still see it? E.g. anywhere online where you can do a legal download?

Can't help you there if you insist on that little condition. Legally, you could purchase it from the itunes store I believe because the Office is sold for video ipods.

No TV shows available in Canada from iTunes yet. It isn't illegal to download TV shows from the Internet in Canada though.

Actually, yes it is.
It isn't illegal to download music because of the levy imposed on blank media, but it is a violation to download movies or TV shows. They weren't considered in the levy (only music).
Global is starting to stream episodes on their website, but The Office isn't there yet (But if you need to catch up on "1v100", "Deal or No Deal", "The Jane Show" or "ET Canada", you're set.

I too noticed they were different. Thought I was going crazy though. Makes the situation even more hilarious given the "they all look the same" stereotype at the office party.
Sorry for being so off topic but, people are probably interested in this.

The levy that is imposed on blank media does not make it legal to download music. Blank media is used for things other than music. What if I were to create a VCD or a DVD of something I downloaded. By your argument, that would make it legal because I paid the levy for my CD for my VCD and for my DVD. There is no levy on MP3 players anymore.
It is not illegal to download, just distribute or share. Here's some legalese:
The difference being in the first case one person does everything necessary to commit the offence. In the case of downloading one person shares, the other persons copies- therefore two actions not deliberated with reference to a crime have been committed. In Canada two actions cannot be formed to create an offence where it cannot be clearly demonstrated that the performance of the 'half' participaction was clearly in anticipation of a specific other action which when combined would create an offence. Since there is nothing specific about either who you are sharing to or copying from the two cannot be combined to make an offence.
Here is an article about the ruling.

Barnes, that ruling was in 2004 and I seem to recall more recent rulings that have changed that quite a bit. Regardless, it's a grey area and regardless, any person armed with google could easily find out how to download tv through various links.
