I dunno, I prefer realistic shooters like Call of Duty, Counter Strike.

I tend to agree with you about the story and characters, pretty standard sci-fi stuff. But the overall production, gameplay and just pure fun is great. I think it is the best console shooter i've played. I honestly thought Resident Evil 4 was such an overrated game, and I loved the Resident Evil series over the years.

Great game.. I agree the story isn't the pinnacle of story telling but it's solid and engaging (to me anyway) and the production makes it.

Why oh why must my 360 be broken and in the mail somewhere???

Yeah I guess it's probably the Beta, but from what I hear its pretty amazing. I'll see if I can get a copy of it somehow and let you guys know.

I agree the Halo characters are bland, but I think the main character is supposed to be bland so that "you" can fill into his role. You can probably relate better to a non-stereotyped character rather than the stereotyped meat heads of Gears of War (which is a good game too). I thought the concept of a ringed planet pretty creative though.

The Halo 2 online multiplayer is the most fun I've ever had playing video games in my entire life.

Even Super Mario Kart doesn't compare.

I'm freakin pumped for Halo 3.
