I started a new thread about Southpark so this one doesn't go haywire.

I personally wouldn't dole out $20 or whatever it is to see a movie nowadays to watch the Simpsons. As others have discussed, the show isn't even remotely funny anymore, except I can get a laugh out of homer for just being homer...

I would contemplate getting it on DVD if someone said it was really good, but this is a wait for TV movie IMO.

Here's the first trailer that shows actual scenes from the movie.

I personally prefer the last 8 years episodes over the earlier ones. I thought the older ones were mostly corny.

im sorry but this is the most rediculous thing ive ever heard. this is actually worse than someone saying that they like the new Saturday night live better than back in the day when they had farley, spade, sandler, rock, hartman, neelon, meadows, ferrell.

seriously, corny? its some of the greatest satire/comedy to ever be aired on television. seasons 2-8 are by far the most solid string of episodes of the simpsons. perhaps even of any tv show ever, and if not then just about because law and order, seinfeld or mash could give it a run for its money on consistency for that long but it would be close in any case.

the new simpsons has turned into an ongoing animated scary movie franchise. in the sense that all they do is rip off movies and other tv shows from the last 2-10 years. the simpsons used to be about referencing classic movies, books etc. now its about having 50 cent and labron james guest star every week. its crap pure crap.
