Wow thats a terrible story for sure. First to lose the child and to be looking at up to a one year recovery on top of that. Hard not to feel bad for people who suffer that type of tragedy when they don't do anything wrong.
I absolutly hate driving anywhere in Winter just because everything around you is so unpredictable. Hiway 2 is bad at the best of times due to the traffic and the way some people drive, but it gets downright nasty in winter. Especially that stretch between Carstairs and the Olds exit where the cross winds are always blowing snow onto the road. Red Deer to Innisfail also tends to get in a bad way too and you'll end up with 40 cars in the ditch in an hour.
