I loved it... it was sharp, witty, and true.

Even if it was in the middle of his final speech at McDougall Centre, or at the Legislature, what does he care, he's riding off into the sunset... may as well do it as the outspoken curmudgeon we knew and loved during Ralph's prime years. The fact it was at a roast makes it extremely difficult to criticize.

I scoff at the idea it was sexist... she created the circumstances for these shots by her actions, not cause she's considered pretty. Like another poster says, when you play with the big boys, you have to expect these things... so you have to be careful with what you do in public and with high profile people. (Yes, Dummy is high profile, cause he's a former illustrious member of Leafs Nation).

And that thing about Ralph smashing a whicky bottle over Domi's head... I almost spit coffee on my monitor...

I thought it was funny.

Can't wait until they put the sexist spin and the feminists come out with guns blazing. They always put a smile on my face... them and PETA...

But that line has to be one of the funniest lines I've ever heard at a roast.

I think YouTube still has Shatner's and Drew Carey's roasts, you tell me what is more appropriate.
What is he your long lost uncle?

A couple comments here...

Yes, it was funny. Damn funny actually. However, why does it have anything to do with playing with the big boys? Do you think that the big boys get teased about who they date? Hmmm... funny, I don't remember a single off colour joke aimed at Peter McKay for sleeping with the enemy... The stereotype is alive and well in politics as it is in real life...

"The guy gets all the glory the more he can score
While the girl can do the same and yet you call her a whore"

I totally agree that women get a rougher time in politics than men. It just ****es me off that feminists and so on choose women such as Stronach or Kim Campbell as figureheads for their agenda.

There have been alot of women in Canadian politics that have gotten a rough time and stuck by their principles the entire time. Deb Grey comes to mind.

lol, I'm far from a feminist, and I wouldn't use Kim Campbell as an example for much of anything. I guess my point is that there's a whole whack of things that you could use against Peter at just such an event, but you don't... why? Because he's the injured party and she's a ho.

Maybe Peter's bone wasn't big enough for the dog...

Haha, sorry I wasn't trying to paint you as a feminist. I was just talking more along the lines of the people that will swarm out of the woodwork crying for Ralph's blood.

Don't you know... if a guy gets a lot of quality, he's a player... if a guy gets a lot of quantity, he's a man-whore.

Honestly, Belinda's sex life has been too public, due to the public breakup (which most blame on her), and the Domi thing (which again is blamed on her). That's why she gets it so bad. Mackay is left alone cause he was the victim... and even then, he gets attention for being chummy with Condoleeza Rice, and gets made fun of for getting dumped on two fronts, personally and politically.

Long story short... the building he yelled at the homeless people at was named after my grandfather, and it was my grandfather who forgived him first, not Klien appologizing first.

I was at a young impressional age at that time, and I've held a grudge ever since.

I've been tempted to sell cream pies on the street during his pancake breakfasts...

I thought it was funny as hell, I laughed so hard when I heard that.
I am just waiting for Belinda and the Liberals to start saying that it was sexist and that is what we expect from the Conservitaves, just like they did with the "Dog" comment.

LMAO..God, I've loved Ralph Klein from the beginning, he speaks his mind and never seems to care what everyone else thinks, nor does he believe in political correctness.

Here's his remarks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhkKp...elated&search=

It's sad to see him go, i would have liked him to stick around, he has done Alberta proud and has led us in a very positive direction.

Hahahahaha! funniest comment i've heard in ages!

Boo hoo Belinda - too bad no one feels sorry for ya. Maybe she should clean up her own reputation before crying about comments made about you.

Then again get out of politics all together if it bothers you so much.

A lot of people are saying this is normal for a roast. Is it really? I'm not familiar with them myself, but do they usually involve making shots like this at people who aren't even at the roast?

And the dog thing from a couple months ago was pretty low. Especially since they tried to pretend it didn't happen.

Yeah, roasts can be pretty crude, and nobody is safe. It was a political roast, and Stronach has made it a point to put herself right in the eye of the storm her entire political carreer. Boo hoo for her if she doesnt like the consequences.

Has anybody heard where she has said that she didn't like it? I just keep hearing people saying stuff like Snakeeye did, but is she the one complaining?
