There was some pictures going around in an email last year showing some crazy stripping female students in guys dorms at UWO in London.
I expect a similar email to be going around soon for this event.

I saw the pics... they would certainly not be suitable for this family-oriented website. (Many families gather round the PC to read the off-topic board on Calgarypuck.com.)

Via PM's of course!
Ah yes... the nightly reading of the CP Off-Topic board before sending the kids to bed. My parents thought it helped me sleep, but instead gave me nightmares. Never did tell them.

hahaha what? What does this have to do with anything? Sounds like a bit of jealousy to me.
It's not like business students control what faculties get funding. Students choose their careers, and end up in a faculty. I've never understood this resentment.
Yes. How dare they party. They're faculty has money. They should be staying at home and reading a good book, leaving those party-goers for the people who attend a faculty without adequate funding.

Have you even been in Haskayne? Seriously, I have friends in that faculty, but this serves them right. This is why business students at the U of C have that 'reputation' that we are so scorned for by other students and faculty staff. I finished there last spring, but even I know some of those people deserve it. They're incredibly cliquey and don't represent the true population of that faculty.
And the sad thing is, some of my friends I've talked to about it are proud of it. Shameful. Why can't they cause a ruckus at a house party or something and keep it within their own confines? Why ruin a relationship with a top-quality attraction such as the Chateau? Trust me, even for the tourism and hotel management students looking to break into the industry, this doesn't reflect well on them when applying for jobs there.
At this moment, I'm embarassed for those guilty people and have no remorse.

I noticed that yesterday too. I overheard a lot of people bragging about to their friends and telling them how they were in the paper and it was so cool etc..
I think some Haskayne students really have that frat boy mentality going strong, and are embarassing to the rest of their faculty and the Uni in general.

Can't say I've ever been to business at U of C...
but pretending I was a U of C business student I'd say I agree full fledged with what your saying. I know a few of the guys (and girls!) who went.
Turns out this had ZERO to do with the amount of funding the faculty receives. Which is what I was referring to. Business students get a bad name because they're arrogant. And it's because largely, they are. Just saying, them getting wasted in a big party has nothing to do with the funding of the faculty.

Geez. Most B. Comm. students major in accounting, and if you want to see squares that can give CS students competition on the nerd scale, it's them.
Haskayne just attracts the obnoxious losers. They eventually become executives.

No, that's true, but I do believe the level of funding they receive is based on the strategy plan they present to the department each year, including for activities such as Western Business Games, the event in question. You are definintely right that funding has no correlation, although I have a hard time believing that they'll get the same level of funding next year after the department is through with them...

The games arent a University sanctioned or sponsored event.
It is a gathering sponsored by the students - the University has no say and they cant punish the students because they were there acting as private citizens.
Althought running throught the halls with G Strings on is a bit different than 5 years ago

Being a UofA Business student, I can honestly tell you I'm not too surprised. Before I was accepted into Business one of my friends that was there warned me about dressing "nice" when being in business. Not that I don't dress nice to begin with, but one guy actually snapped on me because I came to school wearing sweat pants and not the "required dress pants". No joke, that actually happened.
I try not to associate myself with any of the Business games that are set up. I'm sure some of them are actually worth it, such as some business plan competitions, but others that aren't sanctioned by the UofA just result in what you see happening here, just a normal drunken party that give non-business students the wrong impression of all business students.

Dude.
Sweat pants?
Is everything ok? Because that is a major sign of depression. When I see someone walking around in sweat pants, it is like "uh oh, there goes another person who just quit on their life".
Unless you were working out or jogging or something.

Bwahahaha, must have been CP's favorite troll, Sundeep. If so, sew some A/X or Lacoste logos on to the sweats, then it'll be A-OK with him.
I'm not sure if the dress thing has gotten out of control lately, but when I was there, there was a legit reason to wear a suit to school. Interviews are conducted on campus, unlike most other faculties, and you can have multiple events and interviews so you can be wearing one for a few weeks.
So Joe Science Geek sees this and figures all Business types dress like this all the time. Nice. Enjoy the cheese factory job, CMMB geek! ;-)
(I say this as a former CMMB geek)

Really? The interviews lasted all of maybe 2-3 weeks of the entire year, and no one HAD to wear suits in any presentations or most functions I've seen. Muta and I just spent 5 years in Haskayne, and never wore a suit once. The teachers aren't going to mark you if you're wearing a blazer or not, and if they do, that's just tradgic.
Only people that ever really wore suits ALL THE TIME were the keeners and the CPMT crowd, of which I just laugh at and don't associate with...

What are you? from Edmonton???? if you were wearing dress shoes, then thats OK, I guess...but seriously, even people that are jogging, wouldn't be caught dead in jogging pants. There is no justifying wearing JP's out in public, IMHO. You can buy jeans or whatever for $20 at Winners or where ever...
