Basically like continuing to smoke cigarettes in the hope that one day (before they actually kill you) they'll be able to cure lung cancer? Strange approach.

Hardly. As someone once said, we didn't leave the Stone Age because we ran out of stones.

Technology always progresses.

Yes here are some planks way better than that fruitcake Layton come every come up with :

Raising the average temperature in Canada by selling the three territories to Mexico.
  • Urged genetic modification of exotic animals so that they can live in the Yukon and battle it out on the streets of Whitehorse to increase tourism. “This will also give us an opportunity to answer that age-old question: Can a polar bear kick a lion’s ass?”
tearing down the Rocky Mountains so that Albertans could see the Pacific sunset; this would also have the benefit of providing Albertans with a few extra minutes of daylight

lowering the boiling point of water to save energy

Bring back the RHINO PARTY!!!!!

Man I miss them. They also proposed moving the Rocky Mountains as a make work project.

They live in their own bubble of corrupt reality.

Wasn't there a provincial Rhino party that wanted to put a dome over Fish Creek, and run a transit line from Mexico to Canada?

Man, that'd be SWEET.

The one where they would tow Newfoundland out into the Atlantic and sink it to save Canada money in the long run was another excellent policy!!!

Ah, the rhinoceros party

Some of my favourite policies:

-reducing the speed of light because it's much too fast

-adopting the British system of driving on the left; this was to be gradually phased in over five years with large trucks first, then buses, eventually including small cars and bicycles last

-as an energy-saving idea, putting larger wheels on the back of all cars so that they will always be going downhill,

-declaring war on Belgium because a Belgian cartoon character, Tintin, killed a rhinoceros in one of the cartoon

-offering to call off the proposed Belgium-Canada war if Belgium delivered a case of mussels and a case of Belgian beer to Rhinoceros "Hindquarters" in Montréal (the Belgian Embassy in Ottawa did, in fact, do this),

-making Canadians stronger by putting steroids in the water

-putting the West Edmonton mall on wheels and rolling it to areas of the country suffering from economic depression
