A friend of mine has seen the advance screening of this movie.

He said that at the end of the movie, people just stood up and gave it a big applause. Many had tears in their eyes from the awe of what they just saw. He said this movie made him think a lot about the things he valued and how petty it all seemed. "What men are these, that value and fight for Honor, instead of money and riches."

Ah, so sorry!

My friend has been going on and on about this movie. Granted, most of the audience members were men in their 20s, but some women found the relationship side of King Leonidas and his wife genuine.

Looks decent but I mean, it looks like just another big battle war movie with a bunch of rousing speeches, slow-mo drama, bloodshed and a whole crap load of processed cheese.

Nothing special.

That sounds like a film trailer right there.

Just get the guy with the voice who does all the real trailers, and you have a winner.

I can't remeber the last time I've had this much anticipation for a movie. I'll probably go see it either opening night or the next day. I haven't done that in a long time. The trailers give me the chills.

Actually, my friend said that line came from Xerxes. I can't remember what he told me specifically, but according to him, xerxes was wondering what kind of people he was attacking. The advisors told him that these men were olympians and that they competed for a olive crown or something like that. Xerxes couldn't believe what he heard, because that implies that these men competed for the prize of honor, and not riches and power.

EDIT: I couldn't remember what the men competed for, but I'm pretty sure it was an olive crown instead of a fig crown.

I can't stand it when movies that take place centuries ago, play modern day rock music in the soundtrack. Hopefully that is just for the trailer.

Well, CaramonLS was gracious enough to take me to a sneak preview of 300 as his date. Pretty impressive movie; I'm sure most of you will enjoy it thoroughly!

I won't give away much, but I've enclosed a spoiler (in white font below) for those of you who feel like hearing more about it:

It is a good movie. I recommend it.The movie is called 300.
