I'd turn it in. Hopefully the publicity would make me a minor local celeb for a week and I could milk it for some free meals, club courtesy and maybe 2 chicks...

Oh. And fighting for 18 G's? I'd rather go out and earn the cash, than be an anxiety-ridden wreck for the next couple of years.

Am I the only one that thinks that a 26000 dollar cash purchase (for a vehicle, no less) is, well, odd?

Now, by 'nice famliy', did you mean 'a bunch of guys with dark sunglasses and black suits'?

I paid 13 grand cash for my Jetta. Sometimes its just a matter of circumstance.

I have to admit I'd keep it if I was this guy in this situation. The money came in PO box at the PO. That means Canada Post screwed up by putting it his box. How would the owners ever know he has the money even if they were looking for it? The person loading the mailboxes wouldn't even remember which one they put it in. They would automatically assume they put it in the correct box. Also, most likely it wasn't insured so if there's no tracking number how can anyone trace it? No signature was required on the package as well. Obviously it's organized crime, a smart person would send a money order. They took the chance sending cash, because there must have been more where that came from. So I wouldn't feel bad keeping it and I wouldn't worry about anyone knocking on my door either. How would anyone know?
