He also didn't think there was a marked increase of hurricane activity. More of them happened to hit land in the last couple years and more of the land is occupied by people and their stuff today than say fifty years ago.

I'll bet they didn't burn 80 million barrels of oil a day, plus all the other crap we burn.

Do you not think that has an effect on anything? I do. I guess I've been duped. So has the great Stephen Harper I guess, because even he mentions greenhouse gases have to go down, even though it appears he's not going to do much about it in the near future.

I love all the armchair experts in here. How many climate scientists do we have on this site?

So you believe what the experts have to say, do you?

Nobody in this thread said it doesn't exist.

They said it's being exaggerated.

Big difference.

They're also both hypocrites. Al Gore lives in a giant 10,000 sq ft mansion. Wee!

My take...

I said in this very spot at pretty much the same time last year THAT...

Hurricanes were cyclical, as they are, have been and always will be.

Even presenting evidence to said stance, backed up by the CHIEF meteoroligical societies in the world. Also presented the same stuff from the head of the hurricane center in Florida....who has his family and future staked on them, and he agreed.

I was labeled all kinds of things from the enviromentalists...i was questioned as to having any semblance of intelligence....all for stating the absolute facts.

People need to understand that there truly is history and patterns that explain almost everything in the weather systems around the world. Stating as much makes no one insensitive to the earth nor their fellow humans.

The world heats up and cools down.....period. Are we helping it happen one way or the other? Likely, but certianly no where near to the extent that the ultralefties would have you believe, nor in anysuch way to change the weather patters that affect hurricanes.

It was funny to read that crap in the 60's, and the 70's and the 80's and the 90's and last year as well.

Do me a favor and point out where I saw fossil fuels have nothing to do with global warming

My point is that there are millions of variables ... fossil fuels is one of them, be it, probably an important or maybe the important one.

Nobody knows to what extent they impact the environment from a temperature or hurricane perspective, so just as it's irresponsible to say that burning HFO or bunker or coal has nothing to do with global warming, it's equally irresponsible to say that hurricanes in 05 or last year's warm winter is due to fossil fuels ... we just don't know.

Rouge, I just reread your note ... not sure if you are or are not implying that I think fossile fuels have anything to do with warming ... if your not, my bad.

I just think there are way to many experts on a topic that is complex beyond almost everyones comprehension.
