Saw it, thought it was pretty dang cool... the ending was extremely shocking and surprising, I had no idea what it would be going in. I thought the acting by almost every character was superb, no weak links imo.

I saw this movie about a week ago. One of thebest movies I've seen in quite a while. The acting was great from everyone. The chaotic killing spree at the end was symbolic of the chaotic lives the two double agent lived, I thought. Great movie, go see it.

Great film, I can't imagine it wont' get a best picture nod, perhaps even win it....erm unless Borat pulls that off. Wowaaweewaaa!
But seriously, it was really good. Oscar nods all round I think. Loved Jack and Alec Baldwin.

Ending was brutal. Completly ruined the movie for me. I was really enjoying it until the end, but the end is too important to overlook. I give it a 2 out of 5 thanks to that crap coclusion.
No way this gets oscar nods IMO, because they end was so bad and the movie just falls apart.

I absolutely loved the Irish punk tune "Shipping Up to Boston" by the Dropkick Murphy's that they played at the start during the credits and near the end as they are cruising down the road (before the climax of the film, if you will).

Other than that, nothing much else stood out for me. Haven't seen the original either so I don't know how the two compare...

SPOILER'ish stuff below...

I thought the ending was definitely shocking, but I didn't mind it that much. It kept the movie from being a typical cliche undercover cop story, where he wins out in the end, is vindicated, and the bad guys get killed. I admit I was a bit disappointed when 'it' happened, but still, at least it was something new (to most of us).

I agree it avoided cliche and I like that too, however I think they could have done someting different, better and still avoided cliche. Just IMO, but I expect better ideas from Scorcese.

At the theatre I watched it at, some people clapped and cheered at the ending. To me, it felt a little tacked on, but it certainly didn't ruin the rest of the movie. There are brilliant scenes throughout the film, and for just about every actor, you can say it was one of the best performances of his career.

Interesting side note: I couldn't for the life of me figure out why Madolyn's character seemed so familiar when I was watching this film, but afterwards, when I looked up Vera Farmiga on imdb, I realized that in the only other film I've seen her play a significant role in (Dummy with Adrien Brody), she plays a career councellor who, against her better judgement, falls in love with one a man she's supposed to be councilling. Not much of a leap from that character to this one. Still a good performance.

I thought the swearing was great too.
I was cranking up in the theatre at a couple of points when they really started telling each other off
