No idea of the layout of O'Hare or how tough it is to get around in. Someone here will know though.

According to 2006 numbers...O'hare is first.

2005 numbers show that Atlanta was the bussiest. Thats seems weird to me.
Also on that list I had from Wikipedia, I didn't see Calgary...didn't they have 10 million last year?
EDIT
Never mind the list only went to top 30

I know for a while Hartsfield had overtaken O'Hare for that top spot.
Years ago, I heard that there was a plane landing or taking off every 8 seconds or so at O'Hare.
Not sure how accurate that is.

O'Hare is busy, but if both of your connecting flights are in the same terminal, it's really not too bad. My guess is it will be a 5 minute walk to your gate. And if you're lucky you'll pass that delicious Cinnabon stand......
The only problem is that you're flying United out of O'Hare. I pretty much travel through Chicago every time I fly, living in Iowa City--and I have not had a United flight out of Chicago NOT be delayed. I don't know who in the United Airlines organization is their "weakest link." But I know where they work.

You may well have your bags miss the Chicago/Calgary flight if it's on-time. Worst airport for that and it happens to me quite routinely when travelling through Chicago. Should come in on the next flight though.

yep, Chicago is notorius for delaying flights and baggage. They once cancelled a flight on me because it "might" snow. Flight time came, the sky was clear. They figured it would be better off to send us out in the middle of the actual blizzard 6 hours later.

I have been through a fair number of airports and O'Hare is undoubtedly the worst...Pearson is a fairly close second. I found O'Hare confusing to navigate, and very slow. Everything about that airport is slow.
Denver is one of the best.

Well, atleast if my bags are late I'll be back home rather than in another city waiting for them. But, here's to hoping that doesn't happen. I'll guess I'll keep anything important (as always) in my carry on.

Just remember to check ahead of time to see which items are allowed in your carry-on. I believe they relaxed the rules but you still won't likely be able to bring your toothpaste, shampoo, etc. on-board.

Hmmm, I flew from Calgary to Chicago and back, and never had a problem with it. It was just another airport to me.
I get to go back to Chicago in early November. I can't wait! Gonna check out the Blacklhawks vs. Detroit on November 2. Should be fun!

Denver's an awesome airport. I just got back from Fort Worth and went through there both ways. My bags loved it so much they stayed an extra few hours there on the way down.
An hour layover is definately tight. It seems that all the flights from Calgary to Denver are about a half an hour delayed, mine was. So was my flight from Dallas/Fort Worth, but our planes we're practically side by side and there was a group of about 15 of use all on the same connection.
So it's hit or miss. If you wear contacts... wear your glasses.
