Well I think they made a good analogy with Rivers when they said he'll be handled similar to Roethlisberger. IIRC Cowher coached under Schottemheimer in KC and last night San Diego played vintage Marty ball.
I watched most of the first half of the Vikings and Red Skins game and I was surprised to find out Minnesota was playing because they only talked about Washington. Again the Daniel Snyder hype machine fails to deliver and the Vikings walk out of DC with a win.

Rome said how a SF paper said Jerry Porter who was in street clothes was laughing and pumping his fist on the sideline when Brooks was getting sacked. Pathetic

far be it for me to defend the raiders, but I doubt he was laughing at the sack, there was probably something else going on with teammates or fans or something else.

You're right because he was quoted today by ESPN as "not paying attention" to the game last night.

Which is soooo much better than laughing at his coach. It's strange how back in 2002 Oakland was talking that they were going to be the team of the decade having won more games than anyone else in this parody ear of NFL football. By the middle of the decade Art Schell is the only guy around who wants to coach that team, and none of his players want to listen to him. I can only hope the Raiders so on a Bengal like run and can't resolve their issues till 2017.

Robert Gallery sure looks like he was worth all that cash...(can you smell the sarcasm?)
Moss was saying how absolutley horrible it was there, and how he's just gonna stay quiet again all year. It sounds like an absolute zoo in Oakland.

So who is worse...GB or the Raiders???
I say the Packers....holes EVERYWHERE on that team and a rookie coach that looks way overmatched.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you. Raiders do have talent on their team, it just doesn't get along with each other. Eventually the Raiders will have a game where they look somewhat decent. If not, the Raiders still have a good kicking game with Lechler, and Janikowski that should give them the edge on the Pack!
Still it's pretty sad what Brett Farve is going to face in his final year. Part of me wants to see him retire as a Packer, but theres another part that would have liked to see him at least be on a competitive team to end it all. Still better him to take the licks this year than their sophomore quarterback (Alex? I forget his last name, just remember that he was neck and neck to go number one and fell waaaay down to the Pack). Farves sticking around this one more years will do wonders for that guys career just because he won't loose all his confidence trying to lead that group.

Aaron Rodgers.
Alex Smith was signed by the Niners and split time last season (and looked horrible). This season Smith is looking a lot better.
I'm betting by week 12 Rodgers will start. Even if he does take lumps, he learns game speed and what to work on over the off season.

Eli Manning was in a similar situation with the Giants. Kurt Warner started the year and around game 10 they decided to go with Manning full time. It was an odd descision at the time as I think the Giants were 5-4 and I think they had a Wild Card spot at the time. But it paid off huge for them last year. No doubt Rogers will see time at some point in the season, but with a guy like Farve I don't know if he'll get any starts. After all Brett has played how many straight games as a starter.

Funny story about Favre in The Sports Guy article this week on the ESPN website. Apparently, FavRay left the field before the end of the game, Randy Moss style. No uproar from the media however. Relevant part near the Brett Favre picture: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...erbrook/060912

Raiders might have more talent, but holy smokes what is going on with the playcalling.
The only thing they can do is a 7 step drop on passing plays letting the pass rushers tee off on Brooks with no running game established.
Wow. Try a rollout, bootleg, 3 step drops... Yikes.

That game was like watching a computer simulation of Tecmo Bowl where two teams just keep running the same play on each other the entire game.
Maybe Art Schell is so damn stubborn that he insists on continually running the same play until the team gets it right. But you're right that was absolutely brutal.

Glaring mistake #2 of my fantasy season.....
started McGahee over Westbrook today in the CP fantasy league due to questions surrounding Westbrook's knee. He's already scored.
Last week, in my other league, I started Keyshawn over Warrick Dunn in a WR/RB slot for various stupid reasons. Cost me the game against one of the league's most solid teams.
I'm an idiot.
McGahee does have 49 yards already and the first quarter isn't over yet. Hope?

The Raiders are the worst team in the league. Brooks is benched again not even out of the 1st quarter.
Farve looking good today for the Pack against the Saints.
Another video game stat weekend for Manning

Yeah, I thought all the people in that thread saying the Pack was worse were nuts. I didn't say anything because I'm obviously biased since I hate the Raiders almost as much as I love the Broncos.
I'm rooting for the Packers this year. Greg Jennings was a steal.

Its not a question of whether the Raiders will lose this week, but will they be shut out again?
Awful, awful team. They just fumbled the snap AGAIN!

Just as I open my mouth... Walters puts together a mythical drive for a FG.

Culpepper and the Fins can't get anything going vs the Bills. Are the Dolphins the most overrated team coming out of preseason?
