That's pretty much all it is. They really shouldn't advertise it as the greatest show on earth. Not really a best thing to showcase ourselves as to the world.

You'd be surprised the reaction the Stampede gets from people that have never seen it before. Yes the "fun fair" is simply just a big 'ol amusement park but that's hardly all the Stampede is.

I watched the series the first time and i am watching it again on tv over here in England and i find it so funny that they drove 10,000 miles across europe and asia without any crashes (i know they fell off a few times etc) yet when they got to Calgary they BOTH got hit by cars. I think it is great that they went though Calgary and when Ewan was on that big ride at "the fun fair" you could see the saddledome in the background.

I am actually planning a rally through Europe for next summer as my friend created one called the Staples2Naples rally where all the cars entered must cost below about $500. So much fun. I have been in a few around Britain when i was younger and its a real blast.

Maybe you guys could set something like that up there. The Prarie Mystery Tour. you drive to one location then get directions to the next one or something. I would fly over for something like that as Canada is such a beautiful place. Could you imagine 20+ crazy Calgarians racing across Alberta in beat up camper vans or the like. Now that sounds like good times.

Magic.

Of course, it is a huge event for Calgary in terms of business.

Oh and shooters at 9am before breakfast.
