I noticed a definite lack of "Green & Gold" in the stands. Section "N" used to be full of yellow on Labour Day but there didn't seem to be any large pockets of Esks fans today. I guess 3-6 might be to blame. There were quite a few sitting around me, but they certainly weren't as vocal as they have been in the past, and they were nothing close to the Rider fans last month.

I was watching a Jays game a couple of weeks ago and noticed that they were using a horn after every home run. I thought it was lame then, and didn't think that it was any better today. For some reason, it works for hockey, but not for the other sports.

Me, too. I don't ever recall such a low Edmonton contingent for Labour Day.

There was a small knot of them sitting down low in section J, all decked out in green and yellow wigs. Nik Lewis acknowledged them by blowing a kiss just after the anthem.

because with baseball and football, you pretty much know when a team is going to score, whereas in hockey a goal can come at pretty much anytime, so it's more of an unexpected celebration. and i imagine both football and baseball being played in mostly outdoor settings takes away from a goal horn's impact than being in a condensed, loud arena
