Exception to the rule, perhaps. All I know is that the freakin physicists that populated that Electrical Engineering department were terrible profs, pretty much to a man. It's not that they couldn't teach well if they wanted to, I'm sure, it's just that they figgered they had more important things to spend their time on.

Interesting stuff... not sure i'd put much faith in these types of rankings.

I'm surprised to see Mcgill down at 42 though. I always thought that they were a very highly regarded university.

Nice to see UBC at 31.... makes me feel that I'm getting some sort of education.

She is doing some sort of international development/social work kind of thing. I'll have to ask exactly what it is called.

Waterloo is top 100? WTF?
U of W was rated as the top Canadian University last fall in the McLeans rag. It has excellent programs with Engineering leading the way....simply one of if not the best Engineering programs in Canada. Many western based students travel to Waterloo to get their Engineering degrees.

KW is actually blessed with the U of W, Wilfred Laurier and the top ranked College in Ontario, Conestoga College.
We also have the leading Optometrists College in Canada (With Calgary Puck recent grad Hesla), a new Pharmacists addition to the U of W and a joint McMaster/U of W Medical school being built as we speak. I would probably rank KW area as the top place to be for students in Canada.

I find with history profs the more research they've done, the more papers, the better they are.
