That's just insane if that's the case but smart on his part, I'm sure the conditions are much better in the states than in Thiland.

From what I understand he still has charges pending in California on Child porn and they were putting them on hold to see how this worked out. Now that he is off on this he is going to be sent back to Cali and face the charges there. But yea like other people have said kind of a smart move to get himself moved to US from Thiland to face the charges.

the child porn charges are just misdemeanor charges.

I think the guy was brought in for a few reasons. I think you could tell by the way the Ramsey family and even authorites talked he was unlikely to be the guy. The reasons:
1) he confessed. You have to check it out.
2) he had detailed e-mails and phone conversations and seemed to know things about the crime that no one should know. Was he the guy or has he talked to the guy who did it? An answer was necessary.
3) the guy is seemingly screwed up and having inappropriate/pedophilic thoughts and most likely has acted upon these thoughts or may do so soon.
