St. Pierre vs Hughes is one of the most hyped fights in a while, and it will live up to the hype. I can't wait for this.. it should be a great PPV.

St. Pierre over Hughes
Sylvia (ugh) over Monson
Vera over Mir
Mishima over Stevenson

The top three fights are very good, and it's a deeper card with Diaz, Steveenson and Misima on it. Should be great.

I hope Hughes dominates and destroys St Pierre. I am confident that is what will happen too. Matt Hughes is my fricken hero and probably the best fighter I have ever seen and I willl be dammed if I will cheer for George just because he is a Canadian.

Go Hughes Go

Man I cannot wait for this ppv. St.Pierre has been my favourite fighter for a good while now, and I've been waiting for this fight, since just after the first fight. Obviously I'm picking St.Pierre. I really like Jeff Monson as well, but thats a long reach advantage to overcome. If he can get Sylvia down, its all over.. Soo.. Even though I think its a bad pick, and the chances are slim, I hate Sylvia so much that I'm picking/hoping Monson..

St.Pierre over Hughes
Monson over Sylvia
Vera over Mir
Sakahara over McFedries
Stevenson (ugh)over Mishima

Yeah I am leaning towards Monson as well. All he has to do is take Sylvia down before Sylvia lands some of his haymakers and the fight is over, no chance Sylvia will hold his own on the ground against Monson.

Also I hope "Daddy" gets beated down, but I cant see him losing unfortunatley.

St Pierre takes the title.
A canadian beats down the champ. Good.
Wasn't sure he could do it, 2nd round.

Holy frig, that was amazing.

I jumped out of my chair, started high fiving.. GSP is just so well loved Canadian fighter or not. The guy is a total class act and like Randy Couture was saying.. such a dynamic figher too. He total outclassed the best 170 ever in MMA.. and this isn't a 40 year old Hughes, he is 33 and still at his top.

I hope Hughes has to go away for atleast two more fights before he gets another shot, and I'd imagine Diego Sanchez is next up. Looks like GSP will fight at the UFC coming up in Montreal in Febuary or later.. can't freaking wait... just total domination by the 25 year old St. Pierre.. just wow.. can't stop raving about him.

absolutely amazing performance. Picked him apart the whole fight, Matt was lucky the 1st round wasn't 5 seconds longer or it would have been done there. I love Americans, but as soon as I heard the "USA" chant I wanted St Pierre to destroy him. Outstanding. UFC wanted this win.

Everyone was booing Sylvia again, but he deserves credit for going to the ground in this fight. He brings everyone to his level and just keeps winning.

Yeah that annoyed me. GSP is fighting for him and his fans.. Canadian, American Brazilian.. who cares, he handled it great at the end.

Still can't beleive the way he walked through Hughes, I thought Matt was going to cry out some country breakfest at the end.

I still can't stand Sylvia, he has his size, his reach and some amazing coaching from Pat Militch, but he is the champ... Brandon Vera is going to take it away from him soon enough though.

Good card all around I thought, great actually. Even the Sylvia/Monson fight was good up until that 5th round. I feel bad for Frank Mir.. he came into this fight in great shape.. but Vera totally outclassed him.

Well I never thought that would happen. I give GSP full credit he dominated Matt in every way and deserves the title, hate to say that as Matt has been my favourite fighter for a long time. That said, having the title come to Canada is pretty sweet.

I mentioned the Canadian aspect because Hughes had called us out. Globe and Mail subscription,no link, sorry.

He implied we couldn't hold our own in the world, world wars I assume.
I might bombard his website with my Grandfather's
BLACK ACES unit just to wake him up.

I was reading a forum with a GDT of sorts, and it sounded like GSP owned the Iowan farmer big time.
Great to see.
I hope Hughes had that same stunned look in his face that he had after he got beat by BJ Penn.
GSP is a dangerous fighter. I don't see Serra having much of a chance but who knows in that sport.

What was amazing about the fight is how Hughes was totally dominated by GSP. As other have said here - it wasn't even close.

Damn!!
I am really ****ed I missed this. I can't believe GSP dominated him that much, I knew he could beat him but I wasn't expecting domination.

When do they start replaying the fights? I want to catch it as soon as possible. I'm guessing the DVD is still a few weeks away from production. Will they have it on Spike soon?

Incredible performance by a great fighter.

shoestring, i read those comments as well coming from Hughes about Canada, and I imagine they fired GSP up even more.

A dominate performance by GSP, who deserved it.

What happens next really depends on Matt Hughes wants to do. He talked before about moving up a weight class to fight Anderson Silva (which would be a big mistake for him).

Penn is kicking around, and if Sanchez beats Riggs like he should his record will loom even larger in the background.

My guess is Penn vs Sanchez in the New Year, with the winner taking on Hughes to determine who is next in line.

No, that wouldn't be smart. When Diego gets by Riggs he will deserve a shot, beating Karo already cemented a title shot in my mind. If you do it your way it elimates alot of possible matches for the title.

St. Pierre has Serra up next, and he should walk through him easily. Then I'd imagine Diego would be up next. Gives Hughes two more fights to tune up for another shot, doesn't matter who, maybe a fight with Karo Parysian next, or Nick Diaz. Hughes deserves a shot after dominating for so long so I don't think he has to have huge matches against big names to get another shot, similar to Couture beating Mike VanArsedale to get another shot at Liddell last year.

Some guys could establish themselves in the next 6 months as well. Guys like Koscheck, Jon Fitch, Jeff Joslin, who is finally making his UFC debut all are good 170 pounders.

Haven't even talked about BJ yet..

Alot of possibilities though, and St. Pierre is going to be a fighting champion, and I don't see anyone in that division beating him.
