I love the fact that with the doctored photo that this website didn't show the original photo, which is pretty bad in of of itself...why the idiot photographer would use his mediocre photoshop skills to "enhance" the photograph is astounding...
Are there bad photographers out there? Absolutely, but the wreckage and ruin of Beirut speak for themselves...unless, of course, all those destroyed buildings are also "props" as well...
Hezbollah doesn't need to fight the Irsaeli media machine; the IDF destroying Lebanon is doing a great job of getting people to sympathize with Hezbollah, thank you very much.

Well Hezbollah disagrees with you OSC. The reporters aren't allowed in any part of Southern Lebabon without a Hezbollah 'escort'.
But, when you equate a known racist, fascist, terrorist organization with that of a freely elected democratic state, then I'm sure that you have no qualms about letting 'facts' get in the way of truth, do you?

funny WD, I dont' see any support of Hezbollah in my post, simply that the original link that talked about generating sympathy for Hezbollah is not required. The damage speaks for itself.
I am not sure how the Hezbollah escort relates to my post, however, feel free to go off on tangents if you wish.
Feeling that Israel and the IDF has overstepped and indeed escalated the situation does not, in fact, mean support for Hezbollah.
However, I suppose those who wish to see the world in black and white (ie "you are either with us, or you're with the terrorists) would paint it as such.

I do see a freely democtatic state defending it's free citizens from a dealth cult as pretty 'black and white' as you say, yes.
what is the problem with that?
Nothing. It's called logical thinking and understanding of the people that want to kill you.

Umm...this site didn't take the picture and therefore does not have the original photo of the "extra" smoke over Beirut. How exactly would they get that photo?
The photo itself was an obvious photoshopped picture and they explain exactly why the photographer would do it.
Reuters has since taken down 900 shots from this photographer and fired him after being called on it by the blogger Little Green Footballs.

Here is LA Times article on Reutergate.

It's worth noting in this context that there is no similar flow of propagandistic images coming from the Israeli side of the border. That's because one side — the democratically elected government of Israel — views death as a tragedy and the other — the Iranian financed terrorist organization Hezbollah — sees it as an opportunity. In this case, turning their own dead children into material creates an opportunity to cloud the fact that every Lebanese casualty, tragic as he or she is, was killed or injured as an unavoidable consequence of Israel's pursuit of terrorists who use their own people as human shields. Every Israeli civilian killed or injured was the victim of a terrorist attack intended to harm civilians. That alone ought to wash away any blood-stained suggestion of moral equivalency.

You see, it's crap filled, one sided articles like this, that anyone with an ounce of brains sees through, and makes me believe that the Hezbullah have a side worth listening to. I started out sympathizing with Israel, now, not so much.

They did. They re-evaluated and beefed up UNIFIL. On Friday, like I said.

Yes, only after war has broken out between Israel and Hezbollah. Whatever happened to solving the problem before it starts?
My initial point was about resolution 1559, drafted and agreed upon in September of 2004. For 2 freakin' years, the UN did 'nothing' to enforce it. And you wonder why so many of us fail to see the use of a organization that cannot enforce its own laws.

I subscribe to a couple of photo magazines which typically have at least one article a month from a pro photographer. The articles usually touch on how they approach their workflow. From the majority of the articles I've read, most seem to not have the time to do much if any editing as their agencies or news services have staff who will edit their RAW images as needed. Their job is to take the shots, and get them uploaded or shipped off to whoever ASAP.
Of course, a feelancer doesn't necessarily have the support team and are only paid if their image sells so the need for the dramatic is paramount - which will result in some perhaps some bending (like the horrible cloning job he did) to breaking the rules by outright staging.
As a freelancer we lives and dies by his rep, and I would imagine being "outed" like this and dropped by a majjor news agency pretty much means he's on life support.
