Interlude or a very medicore solo
Build up to final chorus with an acoustic chorus once
Extended Distortion Chorus
After listening to an hour of CJAY you can't even distinguish between all these new bands.
Let's just hope the Alternative Rock station actually plays more non-mainstream stuff...

Yes he has, he used to be a funny guy. Apparently his recent habit of sporadic holiday expeditions has dampened his sense of humor. I can't stand listening to Dave Rowe, but Richards is getting up there with him in terms of annoyingness.

Eagle is a great radio station, but I think I will listen to Harvard - 92.9 FM, 45,000 Watts, Alternative Rock format. That one seems up my alley. Hope it's better that CJ92.

Funny...while I noticed I had the dial on CJAY while viewing this post. Some crappy 'Alternative' rock song by some crappy 'alternative' band. And Q107 was playing AC/DC.
I'm glad everyone seems to hate CJAY. I'm glad there are people in Calgary with taste. I just wish CJAY would follow suit.
Q is pretty...blah, as well. Same songs, all the time. Interesting to hear what the new 'Alternative' station will sound like.

I noticed he wasn't as funny in the last while too but it's summer though. The guy's gotta golf, party, do charity events etc. Writing those songs and doing those interviews must take some serious time and effort. Who wants to work hard during a heat wave? Once he went on holidays and I heard that whiny Jenna filling in I had to change the station on my alarm clock. Maybe he'll be back next week. Once September hits and Maher in the morning is back the fan960 will be much better to wake up to.

There was a thread about radio stations a few months ago where one of the posters who seemed to have a pretty good knowledge of Calgary radio explained why the city won't be getting another hip-hop station for a long time. Pretty much boiled down to no demand for it ... and the fact that we had two start up at the same time really screwed it up for both and they never recovered.
Regardless is sucks.. i would like a hip-hop station as well

i wish we had a pure jazz station that didn't completely suck.
kind of like what you hear on "time for jazz" on CKUA. i think CKUA is hands down the best station in calgary... and i hope it always stays that way.
i also wish we had a real indie station. that didn't completely suck.

It will sound refreshing at first. But that format get can pretty damn repitive after a while. It needs to be done properly. And the owners need to stay the course even if CJAY kills them in the ratings for the first few books. Still take comfort in never having to hear a **** poor Van Halen song agian.

My alarm clock at home is set to CKUA, and when I don't listen to my own music it's usually on at work. Baba rules when he gets to play stuff during the day. I've never heard Tomorrow Never Knows on the radio before.. that's one of my favourite songs.

The asshat beside me listens to 107 all day long. Every time I hear Rush I want to fill my ears with chapstick and whiteout.
Sirius is the way to go....I've had it since Christmas last year, and still haven't explored all the stations they offer.
Nothing like Jason Ellis on the drive home as well, the guy is so effin hilarious I giggle like a school girl for hours after his show. Steve-O can be pretty funny from time to time when he's on Bam Margeras show, what with talking about tossing it in dumpers 'n all, and random other musings whilst travelling through Australia

Thank god for mp3 players. I can say without hyperbole that FM radio in Calgary always has, currently does, and will continually suck until the end of time.

For those that are into indie and pther such stuff, check out CJSW, it's suprising good most of the time, and has a decent variety. There talk show susually suck ass, but the rest is good... (jazz from 6am-9am monday to friday, indie rock/folk stuff most of the daytime, etc.)

Thank bob there's someone out there who doesn't like Jenna as much as I do......I always felt so alone in my utter dislike of her and her inability to read the sports news or be even remotely interesting......

Mike Richards is the best morning DJ in Calgary, hands down. Do not diss the Mike
Once hockey comes back, he'll be funnier than ever.
Yeah, Jenna's a litle boring. She finally found an interesting topic last week, but I think most guys phone in to her so that they can practice talking to a girl

Here is the initial thread that you were talking about. http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=20236
Glad to see that I was right in that thread with respect to what stations I felt would get approval, Modern Rock and Hot AC, Calgary has needed them for a long time.
